You can park on Place de la République.
(S/E) From Place de la République, walk through the old town along Rue Droite, which leads to Place Castaniè and Quai du Lot.
(1) Cross the river via the footbridge. Once on the other bank, turn left immediately. Walk along the river for 500 metres. When you reach a junction with another road, turn left and follow it for 100 metres.
(2) At the end of the bridge, take the small road on the right and follow it for 2.5 km.
(3) Turn left towards Mailhol Bas. Leave this road and follow the path on the right which climbs up to join the Route du Battedou. When you reach the road, turn right and continue for 200 metres.
(4) In the hamlet of Battedou, walk up between the houses and then, before the last house, turn left. Follow this path uphill for 500 metres until you reach a forest track. Follow it to the left for 150 metres, then take a path on the right which climbs up to join the Route de la Valette. Follow this road to the left for 200 metres.
(5) At the La Valette crossroads, take the path between the trees on the right, which climbs quite steeply to reach the village of Golinhac.
(6) When you reach the town hall, head up to the left, alongside it. Continue straight on for 50 metres, then turn left for 50 metres. Back on the GR®65, follow it until you reach a ridge road. Follow this road to the right for 500 metres.
(7) At the junction, take the path straight ahead, which runs alongside the stone house. This path (800 metres) takes you to a place called Le Poteau.
(8) At the junction of the departmental roads, follow the D904 to the right for 600 metres. Leave this road and take a track on your left, 6 km long. At the end of the track, take the road on the left to reach the Liabastre farm.
(9) When you reach the farm, follow the road on the right for 200 metres. Before the junction with the D42, take the stony track leading uphill on your right. Follow it across the meadows to reach the road, which you then follow to the right for 200 metres.
(10) Leave the main road and turn left onto the small Route de Rilhac, which ends, after 500 metres, in a dirt track. Follow it for 300 metres, then take the path leading down to the left into the woods to reach the forest track.
(11) At the forest track, turn left towards the hamlet of Falguières. At the end of the track, continue for 600 metres along the road to join the GR®65.
(12) Turn right onto the sandy path. On the descent, follow the path on the right, then cross the small bridge. Continue along the path on the left, between the dry-stone walls, to reach the village of Espeyrac.
(13) At the end of the path, turn left down the narrow lane to reach the church square. Walk down to the bottom of the village, turning left onto Rue du Congrelh. Pass the hotel-restaurant. Walk up the D42 to the right for 100 metres.
(14) Turn left onto the path leading down to the stream. After crossing the stream, head back up to the right for 100 metres, then take the path on the left which climbs into the pine forest. On emerging from the forest, continue along the path that runs alongside the meadows until you reach Route de la Gardette. Follow the road to the left for 100 metres.
(15) Turn right onto Route de Lavernhe. Follow it for 3 km, passing through the hamlets of Lavernhe, Le Salès and Le Jonquet.
(16) Before the hamlet of Cantagrel, take the path that climbs to the left, leading to the ridge at a place called the heath.
(17) Behind the fortified barn, take the track leading down to your right. This track winds its way down through woodland for 5 kilometres, reaching the banks of the Lot at the magnificent hamlet of Montarnal.
(18) Walk down to the bottom of the hamlet, then follow the only road. Pass Notre-Dame d’Aynes to reach a junction with another road. Turn right and cross the Pont de Saint-Sulpice.
(19) At the end of the bridge, leave Vieillevie on your left and turn right onto the departmental road, following it for 900 metres to reach La Prade. Take the small road that winds its way between the houses and heads uphill. After 300 metres, turn right. Then pass a junction.
(20) In the hamlet of Aynes, take the path on the left (3 km), which follows the contour line above the houses. After crossing a stream, you’ll reach a place called Les Fruitières. Head down to the road to reach Le Port. Take the D141 on the left for 100 metres.
(21) Opposite the canoe centre in Le Port, take the small road leading uphill to the left. After the hairpin bend on the left, carry on to reach Blanadet. Turn right after the large stone house. Continue straight ahead along the path. After 1,500 metres, you’ll reach a junction of streams.
(22) Turn right onto the footbridge to climb up to the viewpoint on the Crestes ridge.
(23) In the hamlet of Crestes, follow the road for 1,200 metres to La Borie du Cayron.
(24) Turn right onto the path that descends and crosses a stream, before climbing back up to the village of Le Fel.
(25) In the village of Le Fel, walk up to the town hall, then turn right into the vineyard. When you reach the road, turn left, then right, to reach the hamlet of Le Serry.
(26) Follow the path to cross the Cargadou. You are now entering the Coteaux du Fel Nature Reserve. Camping and picnicking are prohibited; dogs must be kept on a lead. Take the path on the left to head back up towards Le Mas. When you reach the road again, turn right. Walk past the houses. Head down into the forest. Cross the stream and the Sécadou, then head back up towards La Margoie. When you reach the road again, turn left, then, after 100 metres, turn right towards Neuvic.
(27) In Neuvic, walk down the road for 50 metres, then turn right onto the path that leads down into the woods to reach Le Soulier. Follow the road to the left for 500 metres. Cross the stream, then continue to the right to reach Banroques.
(28) On leaving Banroques, take the small road on the left; then, after 600 metres, at the hairpin bend, turn onto the dirt track to reach Marmaton.
(29) Pass through Marmaton and continue along the road to the stream, then head uphill along the path that runs alongside the stream to reach a house called Le Cayron. After 150 metres, take the path on the left to reach the D920 county road.
(30) Take care. Cross this road straight ahead to join a small road. After 100 metres, carry on straight ahead for 150 metres. Take the narrow path which descends steeply to the Route de Bouyssi. Turn right onto it, between the houses, to rejoin the departmental road. Take care. Cross over to reach the Pont de Truyère.
(31) Cross the Pont de Truyère and, just at the end, turn right to go down the Passage des Frères Pontifs. At the bottom of the bridge, turn left onto the Faubourg de Truyère, then take Rue du Docteur Versepuech to return to the Place de la République (S/E).
