Les Mauritaines, departing from Is-sur-Tille

Park at the Parking des Capucins, Place de la Résistance in Is-sur-Tille.

(S/E) Follow Rue des Capucins to the junction with Ruelle des Graviers.

(1) Continue straight on to the roundabout. Turn right onto Rue Marie Estivalet to reach the junction with Rue François Rude at the Langres Gate bridge.

(2) Turn left onto this street and continue until^{the second}three-way^junction.

(3) Turn left onto Chemin du Petit Clocher. Cross the dry grassy area. Continue through the woods until you reach a small bell-tower-shaped structure.

(4) Turn right at the junction shortly after this structure and continue slightly uphill. At the top, take the path on the left which descends to Combe Marcevaux. You will reach a right-angled junction where several paths meet.

(5) Continue straight ahead along the valley floor and reach the bottom of the valley.

(6) Start a gentle climb to the right to reach the Fontaine Marcevau, a pond-like spring, slightly to the left.

(7) Follow the path up the hillside to the edge of the woods, where you will see the Mauritaines farm opposite.

(8) Turn right into the woods and continue along a path leading to the hunting lodge.

(9) Follow the path to return to the right-angled crossroads you passed on the way there.

(5) Continue straight ahead to descend via a small stony path to the crossroads by the small bell-tower-shaped structure.

(4) Continue the descent along the path you took on the way up and return to the dry grassy area.

(3) Cross the medieval defensive ditch via the Langres Gate bridge.

(2) Take Rue Pasteur. Continue to Place Jean Durant and turn right onto Quai Miton, then left onto Ruelle des Graviers.

(1) Turn left onto Rue des Capucins to reach the car park (S/E).

Between (S/E) and (2) Along the way you will notice: the Courtines leat, the Courtines stone bridge, the Jean de Norges leat by the Saulcy bridge, the Bruant bridge crossing the Ignon and finally the ditch by the rampart bridge.
(3) Enjoy the view from the edge of the woods overlooking the town of Is-sur-Tille and Mont de Marcilly.
