Park at the war memorial above the hamlet of Les Grandes Vallées, which is accessible by car. There is a car park at the side of the road before the entrance to Les Grandes Vallées or next to the monument.
(S/E) With your back to the memorial, head south-east towards Les Perrières, following the GR®2 and GRP®. You’ll reach a four-way junction; turn right downhill to reach a crossroads at the exit of Les Grandes Vallées.
(1) Leave the GR®2 and take the path opposite, which climbs through the woods to the Route Forestière Maurice Lorne.
(2) Turn right and follow the forest track. Continue to the junction by the hunting lodge (elevation 274).
(3) Take the second straight path on the right, which heads due north at an angle, and carry on straight ahead.
(4) Go round what looks like an old quarry (a huge hole) and rejoin the path, keeping heading north. After a long straight stretch, the path curves to the left before rejoining the GR®2 and GRP® at the edge of the woodland.
(5) Turn right to follow the dual signposting to the first junction. Leave the GR® and GRP® trails. Turn right again to continue following the edge of the woodland until you reach a junction not far from the pumping station.
(6) Turn right onto the gravel path and walk for about 250 m.
(7) Head left to cross the woodland uphill and rejoin the GR®2 and GRP® trails. Follow them to the right to return directly to the car park (S/E).
