Start: Parking at the entrance to Lac du Bourget in Monieux.
Yellow markings
(S/E) From the car park, opposite the lake, continue on the tarmac road around it to the right. Go past the weir to the Lac du Bourget signpost.
(1) Continue on the asphalt road for 80m. At a bend to the left, leave the asphalt and go right on an ascending path (note that the yellow signpost indicating that you should turn right is on a tree on the left at the very start of the path).
Join the D96 road and follow it downhill to the left for almost 300m. Pass the buildings called "la Plane" on the map.
(2) Just before a hairpin bend, turn right onto a stony track (the markings are on the ground on a stone, three-quarters hidden by earth). Quickly pick up a path coming from the left and continue straight ahead.
The path bends to the left. Continue south on the main path, ignoring the other paths on either side. Reach the Gaveau signpost.

(3) Continue straight on towards La Devendoure. Cross the D96 and go straight ahead on a track. Very soon, at the corner of a lavender field, the path narrows, then becomes wide again a little further on. Ignore the two paths on the right if you see them! Continue along the main path to the Devendoure signpost. Cross the D5 and head straight ahead to the Cavalets Nord signpost.

(4) Turn right onto a dirt track towards Coulet de Charrau. Continue on this path for about 1.5km, ignoring the inconspicuous trailheads on either side. Pass an important crossroads, pick up a signposted path coming from the left and arrive at the Coulet de Charrau signpost.
Continue straight on towards Saint-Hubert. After 500m, you come to the D5.
(5) Follow the road to the left as far as the Saint-Hubert farm. Go past the gîte, ignoring a track on the left as you round the bend, and continue on the asphalt for another 150m. Leave the road and turn right onto a dirt esplanade. Follow the trail to the right and 100m further on, leave it to turn right onto a footpath. Continue along this well-marked path until you come to a track (postbox on the right).
(6) Turn left and then quickly right onto a track. After 500 m, reach the Chemin de Berbery signpost. Turn right, make a hairpin bend and leave the track to go left on a path that leads to the Champ de Sicaude marker (the IGN map does not show the correct markings).
Turn left towards La Pleisse. Stay on the main path, ignoring the less well-marked ones. Alternate ascents and descents before reaching an open plateau.
(8) Pick up a path coming from the right and continue downhill to the left. Leave a path on the left at the bottom of the Vallat de Peisse and continue through the oaks to the Peisse signpost.

(9) Leave the GR® and continue straight on towards Font de Jean. The rest of the route is sometimes on the cliff-edge, in smaller spaces between box trees or at the foot of cliffs. After a short cliff-edge section, reach the Font de Jean marker.
(10) Continue straight on towards Lac du Bourget. Further on, the path approaches the Nesque in a box hedge. Go upstream through the Nesque gorge to the Lac du Bourget signpost.
(1) Turn left, pass the lake weir and walk around it to reach the car park (S/E).
