Park near the bus stop in the bend before the bridge or along the few houses on the RM 2209 a little further down.
(S/E) Go to marker 16 on the edge of the RM 2209 at the intersection with the Route de la Clave (closed to public traffic by a double barrier). Take this small road, which quickly joins the banks of the Estéron. Continue on to the hamlet of La Clave.
(1) At the end of the road, continue straight ahead along a car park, then go around a house on the right on a small path. Continue straight ahead on the path that goes up the right bank of the Estéron. Just before a bend in the river, the path climbs to the left above the Bouyon stream (named after the village located higher up). Continue until you reach a path on the cliff edge above this small valley.
Fork across the Vallon de Fouant Caudo (there is an abandoned building, probably an old mill) and follow the stream to marker 20 (on the map, but 105 on the ground).
(2) Turn left towards the Sainte-Marguerite Chapel and climb the track to a small road. Continue along this road, climbing up to the chapel, near marker 19.
(3) Walk back down a few metres and turn right onto the road towards Petit Plan (Route de la Porti Solo). Pass a house, then a small lodge and continue to an uphill S-bend at marker 17.
(4) Take the path on the left towards Clos Martel. The descent is gentle at first, then becomes increasingly steep. Be careful, as some sections may be slippery. As you approach the houses at the end of the descent, you will arrive at marker 15.
(5) Descend on the left towards the Pont de l'Estéron bridge to join the RM 2209. Then carefully follow the road on the left to return to the starting point (S/E).
the end of the hike is electric! Less than 1.5 km from the end of the circuit, a pole has collapsed in the middle of the forest, forcing hikers to climb over an electric cable. I'm not an electrician, so I don't know the risks, but perhaps it would be best to wait for it to be repaired before venturing there.
