Car park in front of the former Château-Salins Magistrates’ Court on Rue Beaurepaire.
(S/E) Join the D674, turn right and follow the road as far as the last house. When you reach it, you’ll see a sign indicating a marked path on your right (marked by Randomoselle; it does not appear on maps).
(1) After 700 m along the path, take the second small metal bridge on the left (signposted). Then climb the steps leading from it. At the end of this path, turn right onto a wide track which is shown on maps. At the end of this track, you’ll come out onto the Route de la Marchande.
(2) Turn right and walk along the road for 250 m until you reach a junction and a car park. Turn left onto the forest track winding through the Bois de Charmeval.
(3) After more than 1.5 km, as you come out of a very sharp bend, take the first path on the right (there is a second one a few metres further on, which you should ignore). Cross the Bois du Four and, after 400 m, you’ll reach the Majurin valley. Turn right, then take the wide, stony path on the left.
(4) After 250 m, take the path on the right (not shown on maps) which takes you along the right bank of the Majurin. At the end of this path, at a junction, turn right. After 300 m, rejoin the wide stony path, which leads onto a small tarmac road; follow this until you reach some large farm buildings on your left. ‘'Note the “Calvary of the Mission Cross” on your right''.
(5) Opposite the farm buildings, take the path on the right (signposted). After 80 m, take the path on the left, bypassing the village of Coutures.
(6) When you reach a junction, just before the cemetery, take the path on the right and follow it for 1.2 km (signposted). You’ll come out onto Rue du Stade de Château-Salins; take this road to the right for 80 m.
(7) Between two properties, take the path leading uphill to the right. At the end of this path, turn left (this section is not shown on maps) to walk through the gardens and return to Rue Beaurepaire, your starting point (S/E).
