Access by public transport: bus route 24 Châtellerault > La Roche-Posay, stop in front of the Tourist Office.

Starting point: La Roche-Posay Tourist and Spa Office

(S/E) Facing the square, turn left towards the town hall. Then turn right and then left onto Cours Pasteur. Follow this until the second street on the right (Rue Duguesclin). Take this street and continue until you reach Rue de Kerlouet. Turn left onto this street, then onto Rue Notre-Dame, before turning right onto Rue des Remparts until you reach a footpath on the left.

(1) Take this path and continue straight on until you reach La Baignade.

(2) Go under the bridge, then take the staircase on the right, followed by the next one. At the top of the stairs, turn right and cross the River Creuse. On the other side of the bridge, walk a few metres and take the path on the left to go back down; continue to the left to join the D725. At Bout du Pont, continue to the left and cross the River Creuse until you reach Rue Saint-Denis.

(3) Follow it to the right, then take the first left. Leave Rue Saint-Louis on your right and take the next turning on that side. Take the first turning on the right again, which leads to Rue Mirabeau. Return to Rue Saint-Louis and follow it to the left until you reach Rue de la Cale.

(4) Turn right onto Rue de la Cale and continue to the end. Turn left to rejoin and follow Rue des Tanneries. Continue to Rue du Falk.

(5) Carry on to the left. At the end of the bridge, turn right and take the steps to reach the Parc des Confluences. Walk through the park to the exit. Keep left onto Rue Pierre Denis Rousseau. Head back towards the town hall and turn right towards the Tourist Office (S/E).

GPS. Take a GPS with you, even if the path is signposted.

Essentials
Hiking boots. Wear suitable, sturdy and comfortable boots that support your ankles and provide good grip.
Clothing. Use the layering technique (breathable, insulating and waterproof clothing). Even in summer, take a windproof and waterproof jacket.
Rucksack. A lightweight rucksack with enough space for water, food, spare clothes and a first-aid kit.
Food and drink. Remember to always take water and snacks with you

Respect for the environment
Leave only footprints. Do not pick plants, disturb wildlife or move stones or branches.
No open fires. In many places, lighting a fire is prohibited. Use portable stoves if you need to heat anything.
Outdoor toilets. If necessary, move away from watercourses and bury your organic waste.
