The summit of the Noll, starting from Oberhaslach

To reach the starting point, after passing through the village of Oberhaslach via the D218 towards the Waterfall du Nideck (or Wangenbourg), park at the roundabout, opposite the fire station, and in the large car park by the village hall.

(S/E) Turn left, cross the small bridge over the Hasel, walk past the fishing pond on your right and follow Rue du Klintz uphill, keeping to the right. Ignore the first two streets on the right until you reach a three-way junction.

(1) Turn right onto the forest track, which goes uphill (unmarked), and, on the flat section, turn left. Continue to the^second fork in the road, located in the^second valley.

(2) Turn left and follow the path to the junction of paths and forest tracks.

(3) Carry on straight ahead along the Klintz Forest Road until you reach the next junction with the Bosse Peterle Forest Road.

(4) Turn right onto the Kappelbronn Forest Road (marked with a Red Rectangle with a White Rectangle).

(5) Walk past the private chalet.

(6) Pass the former Kappelbronn Forest House (signposted with a Red Rectangle crossed out in white).

(7) Note the Kappelbronn Giant Sequoia, planted in 1896, with a diameter of 7 metres and a height of 51 metres (signposted with a Red Rectangle crossed out in White).

(8) You’ll arrive at the Carrefour du Partage with the sculpture *La Porte de Pierre* by Uldis ZARINS (Belgium). Description of the artwork: The hyper-realistic zip opens onto the landscape and plays irreverently with the sandstone, greeting the astonished walkers in a pop-art style.
Leave the path on the left and continue along the Route Forestière du Pré du Narion (marked with a Red Rectangle crossed out in white).

(9) At the junction with the White Trail, leave the Route Forestière du Langenberg on your right and continue along the Route Forestière du Pré du Narion. Follow the sign for the Chalet du Club Vosgien (marked with a Red Rectangle crossed out in white).

(10) At Lumpestock, take note of the ‘Y’ sculpture (Axel Wolf – Norway) and continue along the Route Forestière du Pré du Narion.

(11) At the Club Vosgien chalet in Lutzelhouse (or ‘Abri du Schliffstein’ on some maps), continue along the Route forestière du Pré du Narion until you reach the next Fork in the road (marked with a Red Rectangle crossed out in White).

(12) At the Fork in the road, carry on straight ahead. A little further on, on the right, is the Baraque du Narion; head up the Route Forestière de l’Enginalisage (marked with a Red Ring) until you reach the next junction.

(13) Ignore the sign for the Barque du Gouvernement and turn right at the hairpin bend onto the Route Forestière du Noll (unmarked).

(14) At the three-way junction, leave the Route Forestière du Noll and turn right (unmarked forest track).

(15) From Le Noll, continue along the forest track.

(16) At the Baraque aux Juifs, turn right downhill onto the Route Forestière de la Baraque aux Juifs (marked with a Red Rectangle crossed out in white).

(17) Take in the lovely view, then continue to the right until you reach the Carrefour du Sentier Blanc junction.

(9) Turn left back onto the route you have already taken, pass the old Kappelbronn Forest House and follow the Kappelbronn Forest Road.

(4) Turn left onto the Klintz Forest Road and continue to the next junction.

(3) Leave the route you have already taken and turn right onto the Soultzbach Forest Road, which runs alongside the Soultzbach Stream on your left, until you reach the waterfall of the same name.

(18) Take in the bird’s-eye view of the Soultzbach Waterfall, then continue along the track.

(19) At the fork with a wayside shrine and a bench, note the iron sculpture by Sylvain Chartier (France). Head slightly to the left and, shortly afterwards, turn right onto the Route Forestière de l’Einsemkeit (marked with a Yellow Saltire).

(20) At the three-way junction, head left and you’ll reach the former Klintz Forest House.

(21) Continue down Rue du Klintz and rejoin the route you have already taken.

(1) Follow the same route back as on the way there to reach the car park at the village hall (S/E).

Lutzelhouse Club Vosgien Chalet, a mountain hut (refreshment bar) open to all, with no accommodation, run by several volunteers from the Lutzelhouse Club Vosgien.
Open on Sundays and public holidays from¹ May until the end of October, serving hot and cold drinks.
There are several tables and benches outside.

Le Noll is a peak in the Vosges mountains located in France, in the Bas-Rhin department, rising to an altitude of 991 metres. It is situated in the commune of Lutzelhouse. This peak is a former scree slope (source: Wikipedia).

Soultzbach Waterfall:
In a rocky cirque above Urmatt, discover the Soultzbach Waterfall, which drops some 8 metres. Set in lush greenery, the path leading to the waterfall winds its way along the stream. An ideal refreshing walk, with rocks rising up as cliffs covered in thick moss (source: Urmatt Town Hall).
