Circular on the heights of Rosenwiller and Dorlisheim from Rosheim

You can easily park on Avenue Clémenceau after passing the fortified gate known as the Lion Gate.

(S/E) Head towards the roundabout.

(1) With the Lion Gate behind you, go straight up Rue de Molsheim and pass the last houses. After a short, steep climb, you will come to a fork in the road.

(2) Take the road on your left and follow it straight ahead until you reach a T-junction. Follow the Green Ring signs.

(3) Turn right and climb a steep slope until you reach the first fork, where you will find a concrete shelter with a bench. Take the path on your left. Follow it through the vineyards, continuing straight ahead until you reach a fork. Leave the Green Ring markings and take the road on your right, which climbs steeply until you reach a T-junction.

(4) Follow the road on your right to a four-way crossroads dominated by a calvary.

(5) Take the path on your left. After passing a panoramic view on your left, keep left at the next fork and enter the undergrowth. You will reach a four-way crossroads with a wayside cross.

(6) Continue straight ahead. You will come to the road leading to Rosenwiller.

(7) Take this road on your right, marked with a red easel, and you will reach a three-way junction a few metres after crossing a cross-track.

(8) Pass by the fountain known as Laegerbrunnen, then tackle a fairly steep slope in the undergrowth, still following the Chevalet Rouge markings.

(9) Turn right and now follow the red cross markings.

(10) Please note that the path ends with a staircase leading to a tarmac road with a beautiful view. Take this road on the left and continue downhill until you reach a road running parallel to the motorway.

(11) At the first four-way crossroads, turn right onto a road marked with a blue cross in the vineyards, then take a path through the undergrowth until you reach a T-junction.

(12) Leave the path marked with a blue cross and follow a fairly steep downhill path on your left to exit the woods. There, turn right and then, at the first fork, take a path that will take you back up to the heights of Rosenwiller at a four-way crossroads you already passed on the way there.

(6) Take the path marked with a yellow ring on the left, in the opposite direction to the outward journey. You will reach another crossroads with a calvary that you already passed on the outward journey.

(5) Continue straight ahead along the Anneau Jaune marked path to reach a beautiful descent towards Rosheim. You will come to a fork in the road that you passed on the way there.

(2) Continue straight ahead, following the yellow ring trail, to return to your car park near the Porte du Lion (S/E).

(8) Laegerbrunnen fountain, where you can cool off without drinking the water, which is not safe to drink.

(S/E) Rosheim: the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul, the Romanesque house, the greenway, etc.
(4) Rosenwiller: the Jewish cemetery, Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Church.
