Park in the car park near Labéjean church.
(S/E) On the road, with your back to the car park, head straight ahead (west) and continue to the three-way junction at the wayside shrine, then turn left. Follow the road downhill to the next junction and go straight ahead. Continue along this tarmac road to the junction with a dirt track branching off to the right.
(1) Turn right and continue along this country lane, which runs alongside a meadow on the right, then a wood.
(2) Turn right onto a forest track that becomes a path and walk downhill through the woods until you find a path leading left towards the stream. Look for the new footbridge spanning the stream.
(3) After the footbridge, turn left and follow the stream to the hedge bordering the meadow. Turn right and follow the hedge uphill, then follow a dirt track to the tarmac road. Turn right, then, at the junction, turn right again and continue along this road to the hamlet of Mounes.
(4) Take the country lane on the left. Continue along this lane, which skirts a large field and leads to the chapel of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs.
(5) Continue along this tarmac road leading to the village, pass in front of the church and return to the starting point.
A lovely walk for the whole family, with plenty of orchids to see at this time of year. What’s more, the first section is fully signposted.
