The Moulin Rouge on the banks of the Branlin

This beautiful hike will take you through quite a few wooded areas, not to mention the famous spot known as Le Moulin Rouge.

Description of the walk

The route starts in front of the church.

(S/E) Head north for a few metres until you reach the intersection with Rue Michel Carré. First turn left then right and head towards Les Frelats until you reach the next street on the right. Turn right onto Rue des Frelats, or shortly afterwards the road becomes a path which you should follow until you reach the road.

(1) First turn left then right and continue along the road opposite until you find a path on the left. Leave the road that branches off to the right and take the path on the left, ignoring the path on the left further on and continuing to the road.

(2) Cross over and take the road on the right until you reach the next path on the left. Turn left and continue until you find a road on the right.

(3) Ignore the road on the right and continue along the path on the left, ignoring another path on the left further on. Continue straight ahead through the woods until you reach the next intersection. Turn right until you reach a road. Continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads.

(4) Ignore all roads and take the path on the left until you reach a road. Cross and turn right, keeping to the left until you reach the next path on the left. Turn left until you reach a road. Go left along the road until you reach a T-junction. Cross and turn right until you reach the next path on the left.

(5) Turn left until you reach a road (Cote 198).

(6) Turn left, ignoring a street on the left further on, until you reach the next path on the right. Leave the road that branches off to the left and take the path on the right, ignoring a path on the left shortly afterwards, until you reach a road. Continue straight ahead, ignoring a street on the left shortly afterwards, and continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads (Cote 192).

(7) Turn left until you reach the next road on the left.

(8) Ignore the path on the right and immediately take the road on the left until you reach a crossroads with a transverse path. Turn right. Reach a transverse path.
Turn right and arrive at a road.

(9) Cross over to take the path that leads to Les Poulets. Pass this locality to reach a Y-junction.

(10) Continue on the road on the left, ignoring the road on the left, and continue until you reach the D 57. Turn left, ignoring the road on the left shortly afterwards towards Les Frelats, and immediately take the road on the right to return to the starting point (S/E).

This route, marked in accordance with the marking charter of the Communauté de Communes de Puisaye-Forterre, is marked with the number 83 on yellow plaques.
The markings were put in place by the association À chacun son chemin en Puisaye-Forterre in December 2022.
