Le Luisin from La Creusaz

Less frequented than the Haute Cime opposite, the Luisin is a superb viewpoint and a lovely hiking destination in a high mountain setting. This hike offers an original approach to this beautiful summit, starting from high up in a wild setting.

Description of the walk

Departure from La Creusaz station. To get there, there are two options from Les Marécottes: a cable car or a very narrow road. If arriving by car, park at the top of the cable car station (S/E) or near a nearby bar-restaurant (1).

There are directional signs at major intersections.

(S/E) From the upper cable car station, head south-west and pass in front of a bar-restaurant.

(1) When the main road turns left, continue straight ahead (west). After a left turn, you will reach an intersection in a hairpin bend.

(2) Turn left onto a path. Ignore the paths on the left. Climb up a south-westerly valley. Turn right and arrive at the foot of the Arête des Fleuriers.

(3) Then head northwest and follow a path that is often narrow and sometimes exposed. Stay generally on the left side of the ridge. The terrain becomes increasingly rocky.

(4) Climb a wall using metal ladders and reach the summit.

(5) Return via the same route in reverse to La Creusaz (S/E).
