Coming from Mayenne, follow the D23 north towards Ambrières-les-Vallées. Before entering the town, at a place called Vaux, turn right towards the swimming pool, campsite and leisure park.
Parking: car park at the Vaux Leisure Park.
(S/E) Walk along the Varenne for about 100 metres to reach the footbridge over the river.
Turn right onto the footbridge, then right again to walk along the river. After a bend to the left, take the footbridge on the right that crosses the Mayenne.
(1) Continue to the right along the river. Continue on the path that veers slightly away from the river, leaving the houses of La Frételière on your right. Cross the road leading to these houses and turn south to reach the riverbank. Continue along this bank. Pass the Saint-Joseph Chapel on your left, then Château Malortie. Walk past the houses of the estate.
(2) Turn right onto the path, cross the Ruisseau de la Foucaudière and head south towards L'Auguisière. When you are 100 metres from the houses, turn left then right to reach a road. Follow this road, still heading south, to La Mortevrie.
(3) Leave the road by taking the path on the left, cross the Pigray stream and, after 100 metres, turn left towards Saint-Georges de l'Isle. At the calvary, turn right and pass the houses of Mézeray.
(4) Turn left to cross the Saint-Fraimbault-de-Prières dam. Take the road that curves sharply to the right and ends at the D151 departmental road at a place called La Blanchardière.
(5) Turn right and follow the departmental road to La Haie-Traversaine. Before the first houses, take a path on the right that leads to the Presbytery. Leave this house on your right and head to the left.
(6) Take Rue du Presbytère to the church, turn left into Rue de l'Église and then immediately right into Rue de Normandie. Take care. The road crosses the Colmont, the second tributary of the Mayenne, and continues for 200 metres.
(7) At Petit Pont, leave the main road and take a service road on the left that runs alongside the river. Continue along the path on the bank of the Colmont, then turn right to join the road leading to the dairy farm. Follow this road for a few metres on the right.
(8) Turn left onto the first path and head north along the road. Pass through the hamlets of La Guéhérière and La Tardinière. Follow Rue de la Croix de Beauvais to the D23 road.
(9) Cross the departmental road with great caution and continue opposite on the path that runs alongside the houses of Croix de Beauvais. Make a wide right turn, then turn left, leaving the footbridge at the start on your left, to return to the car park (S/E).
