Starting point: Place de Thilay.
(S/E) From Place de Thilay, take Rue Eva Thomé, then turn left onto Rue de la Motte towards the war memorial. Continue along Rue de la Roche for about 100 metres, then turn left onto the path that leads to the cemetery and walk along the right-hand side of it.
(1) Just after the cemetery, turn right and take the first path on the left, crossing a stream. Turn right at the first junction (elevation 202) and continue to a platform. Cross the platform and continue along the path to join the Route Forestière des Éteignères (tarmac) and the GR®16.
(2) Follow the road north (GR®16). After 150 m, leave the road on the right and descend. At two successive crossroads, continue straight ahead and stay on the GR®16 until you reach the old Naux railway station.
At this point, it is no longer possible to cross the river, as the Naux footbridge has been closed to all traffic since March 2025.
(3) Climb up to the left towards the old Moulin de la Gire mill, then take the bridge to cross the Ruisseau de la Gire stream. Climb up opposite and walk along an old cart track above the Semoy river. Join the GR®16 at the confluence of the Ruisseau du Nantanru stream and the Semoy river.
(4) Take the Transsemoisienne on the left until you reach a path on the right, which you follow to the Pont de Nohan.
(5) Cross the river, then go past the barrier on the path on the left. Immediately afterwards, climb up the embankment on the right and follow a path to the Chemin de Thilay in Nohan.
(6) Then turn right. Ignore a path on the right and continue to a crossroads at elevation 223. Continue straight ahead towards Thilay on a gravel path. The path passes under a high-voltage power line and leads to a reservoir. Continue to an isolated house (known as Narbruay).
(7) Take a flat path on the left. The path runs alongside old hedges, then joins a meadow area with a few light structures in poor condition.
(8) Turn left onto Chemin de Bozin. The climb is steep on shale slabs at the start of the path. The path joins a power line and a wide forest track. Cross it to reach the top of the Dames de Semoy via a narrow path that continues in the same direction (nice view of Nohan on the left).
(9) Take a small path on the right (do not follow the path on the left, which would take you down to Newet) and join the gas line. Turn left until you reach a nearby crossroads.
(10) Continue along the flat ground, following the gas line to the Robessart viewpoint.
(11) Retrace your steps to the trail junction.
(10) Climb left along a power line and reach a junction of high-voltage lines. After passing under the power lines, continue in the same direction (south-east) to Gros Chêne (several benches).
(12) From Gros Chêne, turn right towards the west onto a descending path. At both intersections, continue in the same direction, taking the less marked path (the middle one at the first junction, the right-hand one at the second). The path eventually merges with the bed of a small tributary of the Ruisseau de Nabruay. Reach the bottom of the valley.
(13) Cross the stream before joining a large forest path via a faint trail for 60 metres. Follow this large path to the right. It is a communal path that once served the Prés de Gorges du Ruisseau de Nabruay (numerous unexploited private plots along the stream). The path changes direction significantly and leads to a clearing. Continue straight ahead.
(14) Pass by the Maison du Père La Branche, which has been beautifully restored and... enlarged. Stay on the main path to reach the Route Départementale 131. Go down to the left towards the bridge, cross it, then reach the Place de Thilay (S/E).
