Departure from Thilay Church
(S/E) From the church, take Rue Eva Thomé, then immediately left onto Rue de la Motte until you reach the war memorial. Take Rue de la Roche, then very quickly turn left onto a path that climbs towards the cemetery.
(1) Facing the cemetery gate, turn right to go around it to the rear entrance.
Turn right, then take the first path on the left (crossing a small stream on a concrete slab).
At the first crossroads, go down to the left. The forest path remains above the Sources Blossette stream and joins the Blossette path in Naux.
(2) Leave the marked trail and turn left between two pastures, heading northwest on a forest path.
Reach the path that runs along the edge of the national forest, recognisable by its ditch and a few markings on the trees.
(3) Turn left and continue in the same direction for as long as possible, avoiding veering to the right after crossing a ditch. The trail curves to the left, then branches off to the right before reaching a crossroads.
(4) Head straight ahead to reach the top of the Falaise des Corpias. Take care at this point.
(5) Follow a pretty rocky path to rejoin the GR®16, then continue to the right until you reach Roc la Tour. Before exploring this remarkable site, locate the junction between the GR® and the yellow-marked path for the rest of the route.
(6) From this point, do not continue north-west on the GR®, but start descending to the right on a wide path, keeping an eye out for a small path on the left that runs along an administrative boundary (ditch). After 300 m, a passage on the left leads to the edge of a forest plot with a plantation of conifers on the left and a deciduous forest on the right.
Descend to the Route Forestière des Éteignères.
(7) Cross the forest road and take the path opposite until you reach a small stream (small wooden footbridge over the stream or its bed, depending on the season). Climb 30 metres, ignore the path that climbs to the left, descend to the right and after two hairpin bends you will reach the Ruisseau de la Gire.
(8) Descend to the right, pass by the Moulin de la Gire, continue in the same direction to descend to the Transemoisienne and the site of the former Naux station.
(9) Take the Transemoisienne on the left, pass the confluence of the Ruisseau du Nantanru and the Semoy, then take the first path on the right to reach the RD31 near the Pont de Nohan.
(10) Head right towards the bridge, cross it, then immediately turn left. At the entrance to the path, climb up the embankment on the right and continue to the Chemin de Nohan.
(11) Climb up the embankment opposite and continue along a pretty path overlooking the Semoy on the Crête des Dames de Semoy: this path is shown on OpenStreetMap Randonnée and on the IGN at a high zoom level. Reach a first viewpoint, then a second: view of Nohan, the ridge of Linchamps Castle and Newet, the Hautes Rivières district.
(12) Take a small path on the right and descend to a main road. Cross this road, pass under a high-voltage power line and descend to the Ruisseau de Narbruay stream.
(13) Climb back up opposite, then turn right to join the RD131 at a hairpin bend. Go down to the right, take the left-hand bend and at the next crossroads go down to the left, via the D31, towards the bridge which you take to return to the church (S/E).
