Access: From Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, head towards Les Baux de Provence via Avenue Van Gogh and, after a small crossroads (well before Les Antiques), turn right onto the road leading to Lac des Peyrou and its dam (signposted). Park in the car park by the lake. (S).
PR®® signposting (yellow)
At the car park, facing the road you arrived on, turn right through the woods onto the path that joins the road you took to get to the dam.
Not marked
(1) Leave it quickly by taking a path on the left, which is paved at the beginning and climbs slightly. At the top of the climb, ignore a track on the left and continue straight ahead. Pass close to a farmhouse on the left.
(2) At the first crossroads, turn left. Admire the magnificent oak trees lining the track, which climbs slightly to a gate, which you go through. Ignore the two tracks on the right, before and after the gate. The path descends and then climbs again. Leave a path on the left and descend towards the Gaudre de Valample stream, which you cross (after rain, there is sometimes a little water).
(3) The path comes out onto a main track running perpendicular to it. Opposite, you will see a small path sloping away, which you should ignore. On the left, there are two possibilities, but take the track that turns at a right angle. Ignore a track on the right and continue straight ahead. Shortly afterwards, in a bend, the climb becomes steeper. Continue on this track that runs alongside the Gaudre de Valample until you reach a large hairpin bend.
Ignore the track and the path on the right in the bend. The track then climbs with a view down on the same track and, after another sharp right-hand bend, leads to another track. Note the buried cistern on the left at the intersection of the two tracks.
(4) Turn right. Continue along this good track, ignoring all the paths that branch off to the left and right. It leads to the ridge track through a gap between two rock faces.

(5) Turn left and stay on this track, which runs along the southern slope of the Alpilles.
(6) In a sharp bend, a path on the right with a steep climb leads to the top of a hill offering a beautiful view. Ignore it if you want to save your energy and continue on the track that descends to rejoin the forest. Leave a first path on the left, then a second one 200 metres further on (it joins the track you will take later on). Continue for about 100 metres.
(7) At the signpost, turn left and follow the track down into the valley. Further on, in a more open area, you will see a farmhouse (Mas de Gros). Stay on this track, keeping it in sight. Follow the wall of the property and go through a gate. You will come back to the road that led you to the lake. Turn right to return to the car park (E).
