The Col du Haag as seen from Lac du Ballon

Start the walk from the Lac du Ballon car park.

(S/E) From the access road, walk along the lake on the right until you reach a junction.

(1) Leave the flat path and take the track that winds uphill to the right, eventually reaching the Chemin de la Seewand.

(2) Continue straight ahead, still climbing. The path turns into a wider track that climbs to the right, before taking a wide bend to the left and reaching a Fork in the road.

(3) Keep left onto a path that descends slightly but soon climbs again. Reach the Route des Crêtes, follow it to the left, and reach Le Haag, with its farmhouse inn and panoramic views of the Grand Ballon and the Thur valley.

(4) Return to the starting point by following the route in reverse (S/E).

Please note: the access road to Lac du Ballon (S/E) is in very poor condition.
