To reach the starting point: In the small town of Le Poiré-sur-Vie, head towards Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne then Palluau via the D2. 1.7 km from Le Poiré, at La Guilletière, turn left towards Le Chiron and go down to the Vie river. Park at the picnic area.
(S/E) Head south and pass between two branches of the river.
(1) Cross the river via a wooden footbridge and follow the path to a fork. Turn right and climb up a sunken path to a small road.
(2) Keep right on this quiet road. Continue straight ahead, ignoring La Piltière on your left, and pass through La Mignardière. Finally, cross Barrot and you will come to a three-way junction.
(3) Turn right and follow theGRP® Entre Vie et Yon (red and yellow markings). Go down the small road. Cross the Vie river using a wooden footbridge to the left of the road.
(4) Just after the bridge, turn left onto an uphill gravel path.
(5) At the first fork (not shown on the map), turn right to reach the hamlet of La Jaunière. Admire the beautiful old restored houses and turn right onto a small road leading uphill to the hamlet of La Tenaillère.
(6) At the crossroads (cross), turn right (south). At the next junction, turn left. Then turn right with the road and leave the hamlet of La Merlière on your left. Join theGRP® by turning left.
(7) After 150m, take a path on the right that runs alongside the road to see the Pierre des Farfadets (a 15-tonne megalithic monument engraved with numerous inscriptions). Continue along the path and follow the GRP®. Descend to the riverbank, then move away from it.
(8) At an intersection, turn right with theGRP® and follow a path uphill to Chiron. Then turn right to return to the picnic area (S/E).

In September 2023, the trail is blocked by barrier tape several times 200 metres after 8. Do not go beyond this point, as intrepid souls like me will be attacked by hornets. You will need to go back up to the D2 via the Chemin des Marais and return to the starting point via the Chemin du Chiron à la Guilletière.
