Car park: park at the Fontaine de Fontestorbes car park (on the D9), which has been moved 200 m along the D9.
(S/E) Opposite the car park, look for a path that starts on the other side of the road. Take care when crossing.
(1) Take it to the left and head uphill through the woods until you reach the D16.
(2) Follow this road (D16) to the right for 350 m until you reach the start of a new path.
(3) Turn right onto this signposted path, which makes a 180° turn. Pass through the hamlet of Rieufourcant and then reach the hamlet of Couquet.
(4) There, follow the road to the right for 30 m, then turn right again onto a tree-lined path heading south. Walk through a woodland. You’ll come to the first chasm on the left.
(5) Follow the signposts (heading east) to reach the hamlet of Le Château. Join a track that passes in front of a wash house and turns left to meet the D16.
(6) Cross the road and take the path opposite, which climbs northwards (still signposted) to the Caillol d’en Haut.
(7) Continue to the right round the hairpin bend to the Trou des Corbeaux. The access has been fitted out (stairs, rope serving as a handrail). A metal footbridge allows you to look down into the chasm.
(8) Turn back for 50 metres and continue along the signposted path to the left to reach Le Gélat.
(9) Here, rejoin the tarmac road and continue to the next hairpin bend (Route du Gelat).
(10) Leave the road and take the marked path on the right at the bend, passing the Bois Joli rest area. Continue east-north-east until you reach another junction.
(11) Take the path on the left towards the Croix de Millet. Go round Prat Laura and carry on to the junction at the 780-metre mark.
(12) Take the path on the left to reach another crossroads, the one leading to the Croix de Millet.
(13) Take the path opposite to reach the cross overlooking the valley. Caution advised for those prone to vertigo.
(14) Return to the previous junction.
(13) Turn right and continue south-east along the signposted path to reach the Ruisseau de Millet.
(15) Follow the stream, keeping to the right. Descend to the hamlet of Bicharole. Turn left, following the signposts through the hamlet to reach the D16, which you’ll follow to the right for 400 metres until you reach a reservoir at a hairpin bend.
(16) Leave the road by turning left onto the track. Head down towards the D9 and the Fontaine de Fontestorbes.
(17) Return to the car park (S/E).
