Description of the walk

Park in the car park near the holiday village and tennis courts.

(S/E) Take Rue Romain Rolland east-southeast, then the path that continues on from it. You will reach Chemin du Bousquet.

(1) Turn left onto it, then continue on Chemin du Couloumié until you reach the D620.

(2) Turn left onto it, cross the bridge, then turn right. Join Rue du 19 Mars 1962, then, in the village of Peyrat, keep right on the path that continues along it. You will reach the Voie Verte crossroads.

(3) Cross it and quickly reach the Hers, following its left bank to Sainte-Colombe at a bridge.

(4) Go past the bridge and take the road that climbs to the left. Reach the hamlet of Campoulhariez. Turn left onto Chemin d'en Sarran. Continue along the edge of the woods until you reach the GR®7B.

(5) Take it on the left to follow the ridge, then come out at the houses of Olympe, continue on the GR® for a few metres until you reach a crossroads.

(6) Leave the GR® here, turn left, then rejoin the GR® and turn left until you reach the antenna at the entrance to the hamlet of Mireval.

(7) Continue right on the GR®, taking a left circular to reach the edge of a wood.

(8) Leave the GR® and enter the woods on the right. Follow the almost horizontal path to reach a crossroads with several directions.

(9) Turn left onto the D16 for a few metres, then take the path downhill to the left. Pass in front of the Protestant cemetery. Cross Chemin des Cimetières, then cross La Bastide via Rue Pasteur, Place du Temple, Avenue du 11 Novembre and Place de la Liberté. Cross the stone bridge over the Hers and turn right to reach the car park near the tennis courts (S/E).

A simple but pleasant walk, easy going and fairly sheltered from the sun, with a few views of Lake Montbel and a glimpse of the Monts d'Olmes mountain range
