Around Cazals-des-Bayles
A short family walk without too much elevation gain. However, the route goes up and down constantly. The trail is mostly unmarked, so a map and description are necessary. It is possible to shorten the walk by starting from Cazals des Bayles (church).moderator's note: See reviews, many trails are difficult to navigate, route changes made in 2024.
Around Viviès
A short, easy hike suitable for families. Splendid views over the Hers valley and the Douctouyre valley.
From Notre-Dame des Bois to Clermont-le-Fort
This hike is based on the route published by SICOVAL "Circular walk from Notre-Dame des Bois", which I modified at the end.
The Croix de Millet route
Circular starting from Fontestorbes, passing through Trou du Corbeau and Croix de Millet. Shady in midsummer, which is pleasant.
Terramont, Les Arces and Leschaux circular
Short, easy hike in the shade (nice in summer).
The ground is wet even if it has not rained for several days, so good footwear is recommended.
The speed camera in Périllos
Loop hike to reach the Montoulieu-Perillos weather radar. From the village of Perillos (abandoned village), easy hike on a stony path (emergency access) (beware, no shade) to the radar, but the descent is more difficult.
You can park near the Sainte Barbe chapel (point 11) to avoid having to climb back up to the village at the end of the hike, but the village is also well worth a visit.
The Lost Ark and Pic Saint-Victor
This is a sunny hike between heathland and rock formations, best avoided on hot days. Hike through the heathland, which combines natural geological, plant and man-made formations: arches, mills, sheepfolds, a fountain, a 12th-century church, a hermitage and a lookout point. The goal is to reach the 360° viewpoint over the Corbières at the top of the Ermitage Saint-Victor.
