La Motte-du-Caire walks

This hike has two contrasting sections: the start and the end take place on trails and pastoral tracks, which lend themselves to daydreaming. Crossing the ridges becomes technical (without major difficulties) as you approach the summit of Jalinier, with no real path but a passage open in the vegetation and the rocky ridge of the summit. This impressive rocky ridge is visible from Sisteron and the surrounding area. If you dream of climbing it, here is one of the possible routes. It's a fairly easy hike but offers exceptional views of the mountains, the Sasse valley and the Durance river.

This family walk crosses the hill of Saint-Abdon, on the northern edge of which Tallard Castle was built, following the ridge. Please note that some sections run alongside the cliff. It offers magnificent views over the Durance valley, the Montagne de Céüse and the Pic de Bure. The return route takes you across the plain, on the Durance side, past orchards, vineyards and allotments.

This short hike offers panoramic views of the Gap valley and, above all, the Céüse mountain.

This loop runs along much of the foot of the Céüze cliff, then reaches the summit via the Pas du Loup before descending along the ridges.

The view from the summit is spectacular, with a 360° panorama where only the Monges mountains hide the Oisans. You can see south all the way to the Basse-Provence, passing by the Lure mountain, Mont Ventoux, Dévoluy with the Pic de Bure, the Blanche valley near Digne, and more. This hike takes you to the top of La Baume. Magnificent views of Sisteron, the surrounding valleys and the Alps. You then cross to the other side of the mountain, revealing yet another landscape. But first, you will need to pass through the Grotte du Trou de l'Argent, which adds a touch of adventure to the route. During your journey, you will also use handrails, small ladders and cross a balcony.

A short hike that's perfect for exploring Sisteron from all angles! Passing by the cemetery, you'll find a quiet little path that leads to Route de Ribier. Head back towards Sisteron, then take the Sentier du Molard trail and return via the stunning Thor plateau. Walkers with dogs will be delighted.

This hike is for those who:- want to walk 10 km at a good pace. It is a mostly flat trail, good for pacing. - are afraid of the sun and heat. It is 90% covered by dense vegetation. - enjoy peace and quiet. The area is much less frequented than the Baume mountain.This mountain is not named on maps. Here you will hike its entire length, along the north side and then along the ridge.

A circular route starting from the hamlet of Mélan takes you to the Sommet du Corbeau, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Durance valley and the Massif des Monges. The route alternates between wide tracks, open landscapes and forest passages. It is not difficult.

There is a lovely view of the Remollon plain during the climb, followed by a wild descent after the Saint-Pierre Chapel.
