Park in the car park in the centre of the village of Le Caire.
(S/E) Take the road between the houses towards Torrent de la Combe, passing the hamlet of Le Moulin until you reach the edge of the forest.
(1) Turn left at the bridge called "Les Chanderettes et la Bouisse" and follow the winding forest track to the end.
(2) Turn left at the cairn.
The path winds upwards to the Costaplane fork (altitude 1,160 m).
(3) Turn right to follow the ridge and veer right at the end, then left to come out onto the main track at the gate.
(4) Head up the track on the left. Pass the ruined Malaup farm to come out at a junction of tracks.
(5) Keep left on the track, which then makes two hairpin bends.
(6) Nice view of the western slope. Continue to the end of the track, climb the small embankment on the right and follow the ridge to the summit where you will find a cross.
(7) Summit of Les Chanderettes. Magnificent panorama.
The descent is via the same route, after passing the four hairpin bends on the track. Pass the Ravin du Tombereau. Ignore the first path on the right which leads to the spring catchment platform.
Continue for another 100 metres and look for a path leading off to the right.
(8) Take it, following the pale yellow markings
After about 50 metres, turn left at a 90° angle and descend between the trees after about 100 metres, the direct path ends. Keep left among the elms and the path descends diagonally to a wooded plateau. Continue straight ahead to find the small path that starts again on flat ground and then climbs 10 metres to come to a fallen tree, which you must climb over.
The path continues behind, somewhat overgrown with vegetation. It quickly widens and is cleared until the end, then turns right to cross the Tombereau stream.
(9) Now the path descends like a balcony above the Bouisse ravine and emerges at the corner of the plantation, which you follow straight ahead. Take the path at the far left. You will come out at the bridge on the D951 road.
(10) Follow it to the left to reach the car park (S/E).
