La Meurchinoise

Departure from Place Jean Jaurès, Meurchin town hall.

(S/E) Opposite the town hall, take the street on the left and join Rue Émile Basly. Then turn right twice. At the end, take Chemin Latéral on the right and continue straight on to the bridge.

(1) Take the track on the right and follow the D165. At the end, take Rue Pasteur on the left, then first turn right then left to reach a fork.

(2) Turn left, then right twice and turn left to follow the pond, turning left to reach a passage between the two ponds.

(3) Pass between the two ponds, then turn left. At the end, follow the road to the right (Chemin Vert and Chemin des Allemands). Continue to the end of the street.

(4) Turn right onto Rue Émile Delacroix and continue straight ahead until you reach Rue du Général de Gaulle, then turn left and continue straight ahead. At the end, turn right onto Rue Victor Hugo and continue straight ahead.

(5) Turn left onto the D164E2, after the cemetery take the track on the left, then in the S-bend, take the path on the left and continue straight ahead.

(6) Go straight ahead, then left again and continue to the hamlet of La Marlière, before continuing straight ahead to reach the D165.

(7) Turn right, cross the D165 and continue along Rue Henri Matisse. Pass to the left of Cité Fachoda, leaving a fork. Before the bend, continue left and straight ahead until the bend.

(8) Turn right. At the end, turn left, cross the railway line and turn left again onto the D239. Then, after number 129 Rue Henri Ghesquieres, turn right into Résidence Florent Évrard and follow the street to the end.

(9) First turn left then right, then take the first left and continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads.

(10) Turn right, then follow the road to the left at the end to go along the canal. Just before the building, turn left twice to reach a fork.

(11) Continue straight ahead, then turn left and follow the pond on the left until you reach the crossroads on the opposite bank.

(12) Turn left, then cross the road and follow the path opposite. Walk along the pond on your right. At the Y-junction, keep left and continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads.

(13) Keep left, then first turn left then right and continue straight ahead. Cross Rue du 8 Mai and go straight ahead to reach a crossroads.

(14) Turn right, cross Rue Jules Guesde, go straight ahead, then turn left at the end and join Place Jean Jaurès (S/E).
