Park in the Don cemetery car park.
(S/E) Take the path to the right, alongside the cemetery, and enter Parc de La Louvière. Follow the pond to the right until you reach the towpath. Follow it to the right, past the lock and Rue de l'Égalité, then take the small path on the right that joins Rue Anatole France (D41).
(1) Cross the Canal de la Deûle, proceed to the crossroads of Rues Camille Desmoulins and Abbé Leman. Turn right into Rue de l'Abbé Leman and head for the church. Continue to the end of the street, passing a school.
(2) Go around the sports field to the right to join the D41. Turn right, cross the old Deûle canal and turn left at the traffic circle. Follow the towpath, passing under the railway bridge. Turn right, between houses.
(3) Thread your way through the houses. Cross the Rigole du Flot de Wingles. At the T-junction, turn left and continue straight ahead. The asphalt road becomes a dirt track after the Masure farm.
(4) Follow this track to the Marais de Hollande woods (Bois Louis Catou).
(5) Turn left to join the towpath running alongside the Deûle canal. Turn right on the towpath to the eastern end of Île aux Saules.
(6) Take a narrow path along the edge of the wood. At the T-junction, fork right. Continue along this path around the edge of the wood until you reach the exit of Parc Chico Mendès, Chemin de l'Abbaye. Follow this path to the left, then turn left again into Rue du Lieutenant Folliet. Cross the Canal d'Aire.
(7) At the bottom of the bridge ramp, turn left into Rue du 8 Mai to reach the edge of the Canal d'Aire. go along the towpath, to the right. Pass under the Pont de Bauvin.
Turn right three times to pass over the Canal d'Aire.
(9) On Île aux Saules, turn left towards the park entrance. After the gate, continue along the road and turn left onto the path that starts in the middle of the car park. Follow the path, which naturally bends to the left, until you reach the "Pont Blanc". Cross the bridge on the left. At the end of the bridge, turn right and follow the Canal d'Aire to the north end of the island. From here, follow the Deûle canal until you reach the car park. Leave the park at point (9)
(9) Go left to cross the second section of the Pont de Bauvin and find Rue Jules Guesde Prolongée.
(10) Turn left into this street. At the towpath, turn right.
(11) After the barrier, turn right up the path to reach the edge of the Bois du Riez à Vanneaux. Stay on the high path and go around the wood to the right until you reach the towpath.
(12) Turn right onto the towpath. At the S-bend at the end of the boat stop, take the narrow path that bends to the right and continue on the towpath. Pass under the railway bridge;
(13) At the Canal de la Deûle diversion, take the path on the right. Follow this path as it zigzags through the Bois de La Louvière. At the large pond, veer right to reach the Don cemetery car park (A/D).
