Corsica Stage 2: Refuge de A Sega to Albertacce

(S) We set off again from the A Sega refuge. Take the path through the forest behind the refuge. We are still on the Mare à Mare Nord.

(1) Climb up to the Bergerie de Boniacce (a beautiful pig farm)

(2) At the sheepfold, continue straight ahead and cross a farm track (there are two options for reaching Albertacce: either take the track on the left and then the path on the right that descends towards Casamaccioli, or follow the path we took).

(3) You will arrive at the highest point of the day, Bocca a l'Arinella, where you will discover a beautiful view of Lake Calacuccia. Follow the path down to the lake, crossing the road several times along the way. The arrival at the lake is not very pretty (you will pass by the rubbish tip and the lake shore).

(4) At the lake, take the road and cross Calacuccia.

(5) Go back up Calacuccia to the cemetery and take the path on the left. It runs along the edge of the lake, where you can take a dip.

(6) Follow the path on the right (you will join the path coming from Casamaccioli) and follow it until you reach the road, which you take on the right.

(7) Go back up the village. The lodge is the last house (stone) on the left of the road (E).

No water source until Calacuccia, no shelter.
Picnic facilities available in a café.
Calacuccia: if you need to stock up on supplies, take advantage of your stop in the village as there are no shops in Albertacce.
