Park in the Peisey-Vallandry resort, where there are numerous car parks. The Plan Peisey car park is the closest to the start of the hike.
(S/E) Take the road that leads to the hamlet of Vieux Plan Peisey, where a sign already indicates the direction of the chapel. Quickly leave the "cubic" buildings from the 1970s behind you and pass through the last chalets in the resort. A quick stop at Vieux Plan is a must, as this hamlet is a remnant of the region's former pastoral practices: it is an intermediate mountain pasture between the winter dwellings (the villages of Peisey, Moulin, Nancroix and Villaret) and the much higher summer pastures.
From there, take a fairly steep shortcut behind the first house in the hamlet to rejoin the main path at the second bend. The path then crosses a larch forest and splits into a three-way junction.
(1) Take the left fork (steeper). You will quickly arrive at the foot of the Combe ski lift, where a picnic table below offers a nice place to rest with a view of the north face of Bellecôte and the beautiful cliff of the Aiguille Rousse, behind which you can see the summit triangle of Mont Pourri (3,779 m), the second highest peak in the Vanoise.
The trail heads into the meadow towards the Aiguille Rousse, but be careful, it crosses a small wet area! In this meadow, you can easily spot vanilla orchids (Orchis vanillé). At a crossroads on a high point in the meadow, the trail joins the Col de l'Entreporte trail (visible to the left of the Aiguille Rousse).
(3) From here you can see the chapel. Continue straight ahead until you reach the end of the hike.
(3) The chapel may be open. If not, you can leave a small donation in the oratory below (follow the Way of the Cross), which houses a pretty altarpiece, although it is nothing compared to those in the chapel. However, this oratory is home to the "miraculous" spring that made the site famous. If you have skin problems, be sure to try it. The water is cold but excellent!
(3) Turn around.
(2) Turn left onto the carriage road and return to the first fork.
(1) Follow the same route as on the way there to reach the Plan Peisey car park (S/E).
