The spur at Bellême

Starting from the Bellême Tourist Office.

(S/E) Take the street behind the tourist office (Chemin des Bois) towards the Chapelle Saint-Santin (private property). Leave the Pont de la Croix-Blanche (helix arch bridge) on your right and go downhill. We recommend following the yellow signpost no. 3.

(1) Go up to the left towards Saint-Santin. Continue for about 50 metres, then turn right onto a path that goes around the mound. Once you have gone around it, take the road on the right, then immediately after, turn right again onto a steep slope. Continue for 200 metres.

(2) Take the path on the right and continue straight ahead.

(3) Turn right onto the paved road and continue for 100 metres. At the "Give Way" sign, turn slightly left onto a small dirt road (former railway line) that runs alongside the road. Continue straight ahead until you reach the D455.

(4) Turn right and cross at the pedestrian crossing to take Rue du Nouveau Monde, then the D310E on the right. Leave La Blanchardière on your left and turn right to join the D938.

(5) Turn right towards Bellême and continue for 150 m, then turn left into a one-way street: enter the "Le Canada" housing estate. Continue to Rue de l'Abattoir and, when you reach an old brick building, turn right, then left onto Rue du Nord. Cross Rue de la Herse and continue along Rue de Hautguinière.

(6) Turn left onto Rue de la Fontaine and Rue de Ronnel, then turn left onto Chemin de la Feuillette.

(7) Shortly after passing Moulin Neuf, turn right towards La Fouquerie, then go up the dirt track on the right towards La Fuie.

(8) Cross this hamlet and head towards the centre of Bellême by turning right onto Rue de Ronnel, then left onto Rue Hautguignière to find the tourist office (S/E).
