Start from the small car park at the end of Impasse de Clérambault, which begins at the corner of the church in Vieille-Église-en-Yvelines. If the car park is full, you can park either in the cul-de-sac itself (making sure that only one side of the road is occupied) or in the spaces along the main street of Vieille-Église near the cul-de-sac.
Blue and white signposts
On one section, there are also orange signs: follow the blue and white signs for the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park trails.
(S/E) From the car park, head north-northwest towards the Circuit des Rigoles (signposted), keeping the Vieille-Église aqueduct, which is a kind of small canal, on your left (do not cross the bridge next to the car park). Take the first bridge to cross to the other side and follow the aqueduct on your right. At the next bridge, at Quoiqueterie, cross the aqueduct again and follow it on your left.
(1) When the aqueduct goes underground, turn right (northeast) onto a grassy path and immediately cross a ditch (old boundary stone on the left side of the path). Go through a forest gate and cross the D73 road (be careful). Continue straight ahead until you reach the D61 road.
(2) Cross the road (be careful) and take a path, leaving the houses on your right. Walk north-east along this narrow path lined with hedges. After passing under a power line, turn right onto the path that widens. Go through a forest gate and cross a small road.
(3) Take the Route du Chêne aux Loups (sign) opposite. Follow this wide, stable path east for about 1.3 km, ignoring all the side paths and passing the Poteau des Vindrins (signpost). You will arrive at the Carrefour du Chêne aux Loups (signpost).
(4) Continue east, still on Route du Chêne aux Loups, which becomes a narrower path through fern undergrowth. Ignore a turn-off on the left and descend steeply.
(5) At the crossroads at the bottom of the descent, turn right (south). Gently climb up a small valley with a stream on your left, then on your right after crossing it. Gradually move away from the stream, turn left, climb more steeply and follow another stream (a tributary of the first) on your right. At the top of the hill, turn right and immediately reach a crossroads (signpost).
(6) Turn right and follow the signs for Circuit des Rigoles. Ignore a turn-off on the left (private property) and, at the fork that appears immediately, take the left-hand path. Leave the woods and follow a grassy path that runs along the edge of the woods on your right. Pass a forest house and come out onto the D61 road. Cross the road and turn right to follow this road for about 100 metres.
(7) At the corner of the Ferme Blanche, turn left onto a grassy path and follow the farm wall on your right, then an orchard. Walk south along a ditch on your left. Cross a small road and continue on the path opposite along the ditch.
(8) At the next junction, turn right (at this point, two marked trails meet, which is why you will also see a blue and white marker on the left). Walk west-southwest with a hedge on your left and a field on your right. Pass a lone tree with a marker and continue between the fields.
(9) At the next crossroads, just after passing a small wood on your right, turn right (north-west) along a ditch. Go through a forest gate and you will come out onto a small road at a place called Les Brûlins.
(10) Follow the road to the left. Cross another road and follow the cemetery on your right. At the next crossroads, turn left into Rue de Saint-Benoît. At the T-junction, turn left into the main street. At the corner of the church, turn right into Impasse de Clérambault and you will quickly reach the car park where you started (S/E).
