From Le Perray to Montfort via the Saint-Hubert and Hollande ponds

Departure from Le Perray station.

(S) With your back to the main station exit, take Avenue de la Gare opposite. At the end, first turn right then left to follow Rue de la Breloque.

(1) At the fork, turn right onto Rue de la Grenouillère and walk along a green space. At the next fork, continue right onto Rue du Chemin Vert. Cross Rue de Parfond, continue straight on Rue du Chemin Vert and cross the industrial estate of the same name.

(2) At a crossroads, turn left onto Route de Saint-Hubert (D991). Take the bridge over the N10 and arrive at the Étang de Saint-Hubert dyke (car park).

(3) Turn left and walk along the lake on your right. Pass the Pourras hunting lodge and continue along the Pourras lake. Cross a small road and walk along the Corbet lake.

(4) Come out onto the D60, follow it to the right and pass between the Bourgneuf pond on your left and the Corbet pond on your right.

(5) After about 400 m, when the road turns left, leave it and take a path on the left, the Route des Étangs de Hollande. Go straight ahead, west-northwest. Walk along the Étangs de Hollande on your left, passing the Carrefour de Bourgneuf and then the Carrefour de Judith. Pass the picnic tables and the leisure centre.

(6) At the western end of the ponds, follow a small road on the right and walk alongside a car park. At the Carrefour du Poteau de Hollande, turn left (north-west).

(7) At the next crossroads, go straight ahead and, after about 30 metres, turn right. At the next crossroads, turn right onto Route de l'Étang Rompu (north-east).

(8) At the next junction, turn slightly right (east-northeast). At the junction shortly after, turn left and continue to the Carrefour Belsédène junction.

(9) Continue straight ahead on the GR®1 and GR®22 (red and white markings). Pass Carrefour des Maurus and continue north-northeast.

(10) At a junction, continue along a path that winds downhill (be careful of slipping in wet weather). At the bottom, turn right twice and you will immediately come to a fork.

(11) Turn left and walk past the Étang des Maurus. Ignore a path on the left and continue uphill, following the red and white markings. Pass the Carrefour des Brûlins junction and continue north on the GR®. Pass a forest barrier, walk alongside a car park and continue along a small road.

(12) When the road veers to the right, turn left onto a path, still following the GR®. Immediately turn right onto the path and walk alongside the Étang de la Plaine lake at a distance.

(13) At the crossroads, turn right and walk alongside Camp d'Henri IV. At the next crossroads (elevation 171), take the second left onto Rue de Château Gaillard.

(14) Cross a street on the left and turn right. Continue straight ahead, north-northeast, following the red and white markings. At the next intersection, turn right onto Rue de Sancé. At the crossroads, turn left, still on Rue de Sancé.

(15) Immediately afterwards, climb the stairs on the left (Ruelle Boutet). Turn left and then right with the stairs. At the T-junction, take the stairs on the left to Rue Maurice Ravel.

(16) Follow it to the right and pass in front of a museum. At the end, turn left onto Rue Saint-Laurent.

(17) Just after No. 28, take the stairs on the right. Continue along Rue de la Croix Buisée. Pass the cemetery and, at the corner, turnright onto Rue Saint-Nicolas.

(18) After No. 27, turn left onto Ruelle du Moulin. At the end of the tarmac road, continue along a path and go down into a wood. Follow the GR® to Rue de Mantes.

(19) Follow the street to the right. At the first crossroads, turn left onto Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Shortly afterwards, turn right onto Rue François Quesnay. Continue straight ahead and cross Avenue de la Reine Anne and Rue Saint-Blaise. Cross Rue de la Ferme on the left-hand side and you will immediately come to a roundabout.

(20) Go around the roundabout and continue straight ahead, still on Rue François Quesnay.

(21) At the end, follow Rue Léopold Bellan to the left. Turn right at the first street, Rue Bocquet. Take the first left, Rue de Mareil, and you will soon arrive at the foot of Saint-Denis Church.

(22) Cross Place François Quesnay diagonally to the right, then walk alongside the school of the same name on your right. Continue straight ahead along Rue du Colombier for about 1 km. Walk past a water treatment plant about 100 metres away.

(23) Then turn left onto a field path (red and white markings). You will come out onto the D76; follow it to the right until you reach a roundabout

(24) Go around the roundabout to the right, continue along the D76 and pass under the N12 bridge.

(25) Go around the next roundabout to the right, using the pedestrian crossings (there are none on the left). Cross the D76 and continue for a few dozen metres until you reach the next roundabout. Then turn right and you will soon reachMontfort-l'Amaury-Méré station (E).

The departure and arrival stations are located on two different sections of the Transilien N line. Motorists will therefore need to arrange for two vehicles, one at each station.

Wear sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
