This varied and challenging loop, winding its way through the stubble fields and forests of the Vosges, offers beautiful views of the lakes and Alsace on one side and Lorraine on the other. You may even be lucky enough to spot some chamois. Ascent to Kerbholz from Mittlach via the Koepfle Trail. Beautiful view of Hohneck from the Kerbholz Refuge. From there, you reach Lake Altenweiher through a beautiful forest. The lake, surrounded by greenery, is ideal for a break. Then descend to Mittlach via Sapin de Kolben and the Kolbenfecht valley.
