Haldenhof - Notschreipass

This hike starts at the Gasthaus Haldenhof.

Signposting: Schwarzwald Westweg (western route), red diamonds.

(S) From Gasthaus Haldenhof, cross the road and take the Westweg trail directly opposite (signpost for Belchen). Head east, walking alongside a meadow.

(1) At the crossroads, head east and follow the signs for Belchen.

(2) At the intersection, turn right, still heading towards Belchen. Follow the various signs for Belchen until you reach a crossroads.

(3) Turn left as indicated by a red diamond and begin the climb to Belchen, following the various signs.

(4) Enjoy the view at the highest point of the day and take a break at the Belchen inn. Head towards the cable car station, then take the path just to the right after the building (red diamond). Begin the descent and you will see a sign for Notschrei.

(5) Continue the descent towards Notschrei. After a few hairpin bends, you will come to a junction with a signpost.

(6) As suggested by the sign, turn left towards Notschrei. Stay on the Westweg and, just before the ski slopes and the ski lift, you will come to a junction.

(7) Following the red diamond, take the path on the left. Cross several tracks and pass under the two ski lifts. Return to the Berghaus Wiederner at the Wiederner Eck pass.

(8) Follow Obere Gasse north for about 20 metres. Look out for the start of a path on the right, marked by a red diamond on a tree trunk.

(9) Leave the road and take the path on the right. Begin a new climb heading northeast and reach an intersection with a sign indicating Notschrei 3 km away.

(10) Follow the various signs for Notschrei. Cross a ski slope.

(11) At the crossroads, follow the red diamond. Take the path on the right that descends directly to the Notschreipass. Once at the pass, cross the road to reach the Waldhotel, your accommodation for the night (E).
