Grüner Ring: Stellingen to Teufelsbrück

(S/E) The hike starts at Stellingen station (S3, S21). Leave the station, turn left twice and walk west through the railway underpass. Walk through a small forest to Schnackenburgallee.

(1) On the other side is the large Volkspark. Here we make a detour from the official Green Ring route to the highlights of the Volkspark. We turn left at the third street. At the fork, we keep left and take the second street on the right.

(2) We have reached Tutenberg, which we leave straight ahead. We turn left at the next street, then take the third right and the next left.

(3) We pass the Waldbühne. Next to it is a mini golf course. We cross Nansenstraße and turn right at the end of the road.

(4) We are now in front of the pavilion in the rose garden. We make a detour to the pavilion and then continue on our way. At the end of the road, we turn right, then left, right, left and left again at the end.

(5) We have reached the honey house in the school garden. We take the second left, then the next right. The path leads us to a small round square with a penguin fountain in the middle. We continue straight ahead and take the next right, then left and right again. We walk between small ponds, where you can watch birds.

(6) Next, we come to the Schleswig-Holstein model. After a detour there, we turn around, turn left, take the second left, cross a road and turn right at the third street. We have reached the playground. You can cross it diagonally or go around it (next left). Next, we come to the Bahrenfeld trotting track. Here we turn right, take the fourth right, then right again.

(7) We take a tour through the Dahlia Garden before leaving it again in a southerly direction. We turn right three times, right at Luruper Chaussee, then take the third left. We are back on the official route of the Green Ring. At the next two forks, we keep left. We pass two ponds.

(8) We have reached Lise-Meitner-Park and turn left. At the end of the path, turn left and keep right at the fork. Follow the path around a right and left bend, cross Petra III and take the next right. Pass a cemetery and turn left at the end of the cemetery, heading south. At the fork, turn left, then take the next right, cross Osdorfer Landstraße and turn right again, passing the tennis courts, then turn left and continue along the tennis courts. At the end of the road, turn right, then left onto Heinrich-Plett-Straße, take the next right and turn right at the allotment gardens.

(9) At Ziegeleiteich, turn right, then right again, then left twice, and right at the fork. Walk past the Botanical Garden. At the end, turn left onto Hesten, then right, then right again.

(10) Behind Klein Flottbek station, turn left, then right, left onto Jürgensallee, and then right.

(11) We are now in Derby Park, where the big spring and dressage derby takes place once a year in May. At the end of the path, turn right, then take the next left.

(12) We cross the Kleine Flottbek and walk south through Wesselhöftpark, past the ponds. At the end of Wesselhöftteich, we turn right, then left onto Christian-Frederik-Hansen-Straße. We cross Elbchaussee, turn left, then right and walk east along the Elbuferweg. Shortly afterwards, we reach the pier in Teufelsbrück, where the HADAG ferry takes us to the Landungsbrücken (line 64 to Finkenwerder, then line 62), where we can connect to various train lines (U3, S1, S2, S3) (E).

The Green Ring runs for about 100 kilometres, divided into 8 stages, around the city centre of Hamburg. The hiking trail is mostly well signposted with white lettering on a green background. You can also walk the route in the opposite direction.
