Description of the walk

(S/E) The hike starts at Veddel station (S3, S31) heading north. We turn right at the next street and then left onto Veddler Straße.

(1) Shortly afterwards, cross the Müggenburger Durchfahrt. Turn left at the next junction and follow the path through the residential area on Veddel. After about 500 metres, take the ninth left, then turn left at the end onto Sieldeich. At the end of Sieldeich, turn right onto a footpath, then left at the end of the path, then right and right again.

(2) The path takes us to the Neue Elbbrücke and over the Norderelbe.

(3) After crossing the Oberhafenkanal, turn right, left after the underpass, then right and right again onto a small bridge.

(4) We have reached the Elbpark Entenwerder and turn left.

(5) At the Entenwerder Fährhaus, we turn left, then right, then right again at the end.

(6) The Kaltehofer Bridge takes us to the Elbe island of Kaltehofe. At the end of the bridge, we turn right and then left. The path leads us along the dyke on the North Elbe with beautiful views, past the Kaltehofe Museum (7).

(8) Next, we pass the Holzhafen, a nature reserve. We continue along the dyke and under a motorway bridge. The dyke curves at the point where the Dove Elbe flows into the Norderelbe. At the Dove Elbe, we continue to the Tatenberger Schleuse. At the end of the path, we turn left, then right.

(9) At Tatenberger Weg, turn left, then take the second right onto Moorfleeter Deich. Behind a narrow watercourse, you can turn right onto a footpath that runs parallel to the road along the Dove Elbe.

(10) At the end of the path, turn left and walk past the Tatenberger Yachtclub.

(11) You will reach Eichbaumsee. A beautiful path leads between the lake and the Dove Elbe. At the end of the lake, turn left.

(12) Turn right at Moorfleeter Deich, then left, take the second right, left and cross the motorway. Then go down the steps on the left and pass under Hans-Duncker-Straße. Then turn right and follow Mittlerer Landweg. At the end, turn right, then left, then right again. At the end, turn left, then left again, then right. At the end, turn left, then right. Continue north along the Moorflether Randgraben. Turn right behind the Rungedamm.

(13) Cross the Südlicher Bahngraben. Then follow the road to the Mittlerer Landweg S-Bahn station (lines S2, S21) (E).
