Forest and pond at Brin-sur-Seille

A border village from 1870 to 1914, Brin-sur-Seille was completely razed to the ground at the start of the First World War. This walk will allow you to discover views of the Seille valley from the top of the village, its forest and its pond, which has long been used for restocking the region’s rivers and ponds.

Hello
We know the Brin Pond area well; we often go there, but we usually set off from Amance.
On this route, once you reach the pond, it’s best to stay on the forest track; the paths around the pond are very often (if not always) flooded
Near the pond, a small path leads on a round trip to an observatory which, unfortunately, is no longer maintained and is even becoming dangerous.
A tip for this route: stick to the forest road.

despite the dry weather over the past few weeks, the section of the route around the pond is difficult to navigate (muddy patches, ruts filled with water, etc.

The route lacks narrow forest paths. I found the stretches of wide paths a bit long.
Otherwise, it’s very good.

A lovely walk, well described and clearly signposted along the route. The circular route is pleasant and varied, following forest tracks.

A lovely little autumn walk, with the beautiful, shimmering colours of the season.
In summer, on the white paths, the glare must be quite intense.

A walk often undertaken by our local walking club.
Take care if the ground is very wet, as the section north of the pond leading to the nature trail may be impassable. The small stream flowing in from the west overflows, spreads out and makes the passage very difficult.
Walking along the forest tracks (dirt tracks) can be long and tedious.
