Park at the Grand Pré car park.
(S/E) Leave the car park heading towards the roundabout. Take the Route de Bouguenais to the left and, after 200 m, cross at the pedestrian crossing to turn right onto Rue de la Courante. Keep left at the T-junction.
(1) Turn left onto Rue Picard for a few metres, then right onto Rue Jules Ferry. At the end of the street, turn left onto Rue de la République. At the junction, continue straight on into Rue du Rossignol; at the end, turn right onto Rue du Moulin, then turn left onto Rue de la Garenne
(2) Take the small path leading down to the right to join Rue du Bac, which you follow to the right for about 500 metres. Keep left at the Fork in the road to take the Digue de Boiseau and, at the roundabout, carry on straight ahead along Rue Gengembre. At the gate at the end of a small car park, follow the road slightly to the left, then carry on straight ahead towards the Feu d’Indret (navigation light).
(3) You are now in front of the Hermitage of Saint-Hermeland. Continue along the Loire, turn left and then left again to return to the small car park and the gate. Follow the route back in the opposite direction to the outward journey.
(2) Carry on to the sewage treatment works. At the works, take the path on the right, then Rue de l’Étier.
(4) Turn left onto Rue de la Cale and follow it for 500 m, then go straight on along Chemin de la Galissonnière as far as La Noë, going straight on at every junction.
(5) Turn right onto Rue Jean de Martel for 300 m, then left onto Rue des Noelles du Pé.
(6) Leave the road and take the path on the right. When you reach the housing estate, turn right twice in quick succession to enter the grounds of the Château du Pé on your left. Continue straight on until you reach the château.
(7) Sit down on the bench facing the château. As soon as you sit down, a tall jet of water will shoot up from the pond. Then walk round the pond on the left, cross the small bridge and follow the château’s path to the park’s exit. Continue to the left, walking alongside the cemetery, until you reach the junction with Rue du Prieuré.
(8) Turn left for 30 m, then right to walk past the town hall. Turn left onto Avenue du 11 Novembre and, at the end, turn left onto Rue des Violettes. Go straight across Rue du Landas towards the housing estate of the same name. After 150 metres, at the three-way junction, take Chemin des Diseneux on the left, go straight across Rue de Prinzé and continue along Chemin des Diseneux for 100 metres. Turn left onto Chemin des Plécinaux.
(9) Continue straight ahead across Rue de la Croix Truin and do the same at Rue Nelson Mandela. Immediately afterwards, ignore the path on the left and head towards Rue de la Noë, crossing it at the pedestrian crossing.
(10) Cross Rue de la Rigaudière straight ahead and take Chemin des Diligences opposite. After 180 m, take the path on the right to join Rue de la Cruaudière. Turn left, then right onto Chemin de l’Audinière 50 m further on, and join Rue du Vieux Four.
(11) First turn left then right to join Rue de l’Hommeau. After 140 m, turn right onto Chemin du Tressard and carry on straight ahead, ignoring the side roads. At the end of the path, turn left onto Rue de Reverdy to rejoin Rue de l’Hommeau, and follow this road to the right until you reach the junction with Rue de la Belle Étoile.
(12) Turn left until you reach the roundabout, then turn right onto Rue Mendès-France. After 70 m, turn left into Rue Flora Tristan. When this street bends to the right, carry on straight ahead along the dirt track which leads into the Grand Pré green space. At the small bridge, turn right to follow the stream, then left at the tarmac road to reach the car park a few dozen metres away (S/E).
