Departure from the car park of the Grand Pré shopping centre, Place du Grand Pré.
(S/E) Head north-east towards the roundabout, then take the first exit on the right onto Route de Bouguenais. At the next roundabout, turn left onto Rue du Cimetière. At the intersection with Rue de la Paix, continue straight on Rue de l'Église.
(1) Go around the church on the right, then turn right, opposite the post office, onto Rue de l'Abbé Chauvin. After about 50 metres, turn left onto Rue Pas Beaune, then turn right onto Rue Violin.
(2) At number 32 on this street, turn left into the cul-de-sac, then turn right onto Boulevard Bellevue. After 150 metres, turn left onto Rue de la Vallée. At the end of the street, turn left onto Rue du Manoir. At the old manor house, at number 13, turn left onto the path that goes downhill. Follow this path straight ahead to Rue des Prés in the village of La Roche Ballue. Turn left onto Rue des Prés and continue to the intersection.
(3) Turn right onto Rue de Gazay. At the end of the street, continue straight ahead on the path that climbs into the undergrowth. After almost 200 metres, pass Chemin du Port Giraud on your right and continue straight ahead. Follow Chemin des Foulques to arrive just before the leisure centre.
(4) Do not enter the Roche Ballue site. Turn right and take the steps up to the viewpoint. Turn left onto Chemin des Belvédères. Continue straight ahead for a few hundred metres until you reach the third viewpoint. Admire the view, then retrace your steps to the second viewpoint and turn left. After about 100 metres, you will arrive at the La Motte crossroads.
(5) Turn right onto Chemin des Garousses to reach the village of La Motte. At the entrance to the village, take the street on the left to reach the southern exit of the village and take Route de la Marche.
(6) Cross Route de Bouguenais, then continue straight on Chemin de la Pièce Carrée. After about 500 metres, turn right onto Chemin des Rotis, pass under the high-voltage power lines and then turn left onto Chemin du Bouqueteau. Continue straight ahead, crossing Chemin de la Pièce Audrain, and head towards the woods.
(7) At the end, take the forest path on the right. Enter the woods and follow the path westwards. When you leave the woods, turn right onto Rue de la Haie d'Ancheteau, then immediately left onto Rue Robert Schuman, then right onto Rue de l'Avenir until you reach the roundabout in front of the shopping centre.
(8) Turn left, go straight across the small roundabout, then straight across the large roundabout, then straight again at the third roundabout to take Rue de l'Hébergement. Turn left onto Chemin du Pérou and pass the waste collection centre. Continue straight ahead.
(9) At the end of the road, at the scrapyard, go straight on Chemin de Bougon. After about 600 metres, turn right onto Chemin de la Bastille and continue straight on towards Rue Alexis Maneyrol. Turn right onto Rue des 30 Moulins and at the end of the street, continue straight on Rue des Champs Thebaud.
(10) Go down the steps on your left, then turn right onto Rue Daniel le Thiec. After a few dozen metres, take the street on the left and at the end of this street, turn right onto Allée de Panama. Cross Rue Mendes France to take Rue Flora Tristan, which leads to the starting point (S/E).
The viewpoints are very nice.
