Circular route heading towards the town of Le Denis, which then follows the Chemin des Canotiers alongside the Bougon, before returning via La Roche Ballue along the Loire. The starting point is the Hyper U car park at La Montagne. I mapped out this route on a mountain bike, but it’s also very pleasant to walk in about 4 hours. This route can be combined with the walk between the Loire and Acheneau to create a 43 km route.

This route crosses the Guerche marshes and the return route takes you via the Croix du Bignon.

Explore the Hermitage of Saint-Hermeland and the Château de Pé whilst strolling along the banks of the Loire.

Circular route passing by the site of the old Roche Ballue quarry and the village of La Matrasserie, starting from La Mothe.

This route follows part of the Logne and the greenway, before climbing towards La Bénate alongside the Loisillière stream.

The trail starts at the port of Lavau-sur-Loire and takes you to the Observatory with a magnificent view of the marshes and the Loire. The walk then continues to the Étangs du Trou Bleu, a former blue granite quarry. Next, enjoy a country walk to the Fresnier marsh with its canals populated by storks.

A pleasant, mostly shaded walk. Depending on the season, especially the vegetation, the Roche Ballue viewpoints offer beautiful panoramic views.

A superb walk along the Côte de Jade. The scenery alternates between beaches and cliffs, with numerous well-preserved fishing huts that are used during the summer months. You can see two megaliths at La Joselière and La Fontaine aux Bretons. A one-way walk between Pornic station and Port du Collet: make arrangements for your return journey.

A pleasant walk along the Canal de la Martinière.

This hike starts at Port Hamoneau in Brains on the banks of the Acheneau, then crosses the Marais du Cheval and the Marais de la Guerche.

This path through the hills above Collonges shows you how the village was supplied with water until the mid-20th century. Along this circuit, there are several points of historical interest with audio commentary available via audio terminals.

A short, hilly walk that’s very pleasant, especially in summer as the route is shaded.

A lovely walk that starts by following the banks of the Loire, passing through the Tougas hills, then through the Tougas Marshes, before reaching the lake in the former Pont Pierre quarry.

A walk along well-maintained paths, through vineyards, woodland and along the banks of the Acheneau. The start point is at a place called Le Fief Saint-Mars in Port-Saint-Père. This route can be combined with the one entitled“Le chemin des grands échassiers au départ de Port Hamoneau”, which adds a further 8 km from (4).

This partly urban route takes you through the town centres of La Montagne and Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau. It offers the chance to explore little-known neighbourhoods, alleyways and narrow lanes on the outskirts.

A short hike in the far north of Europe in Skarsvag (in English, the church gate). This trail takes you to the stunning natural arch of Kirkeporten with the North Cape in the background.

A walk in El Torcal Natural Park in the municipality of Antequera. This route winds its way through huge rock formations. The elevation gain is minimal, so it is suitable for children. For early risers, it is possible to park in the car park at the foot of the Del Torcal Astronomical Observatory building (free of charge). When the car park is full, you will need to park at the start of the road leading up to the observatory. There is a shuttle bus service.
