Start from Sainte-Aldegonde Church.
(S/E) With your back to the church, take the street on the left.
(1) At the fork, take the street on the left which runs alongside part of the cemetery. Castle ruins on the right and the 1786 presbytery, converted into a nursery.
(2) At the three-way junction, continue to the right along a dirt track. At the junction, turn right onto Rue du Docteur Roux. Join the D 59, a cobbled road often used by the Paris-Roubaix race.
(3) At the bend to the right, turn onto the small road on the left, then at the three-way junction, turn right onto Rue Auguste Huart.
(4) At the four-way junction, head down to the left along Rue Armand Delbove. Continue straight on until you reach the wayside shrine at a three-way junction.
(5) Turn left and continue along the path overlooking the Saméon stream valley.

(6) At the road, turn sharply left to follow the Rhônelle valley towards the village of Artres and pass under two power lines. Continue generally southwards.
(7) Before entering the village, head up to the left along the D59. You will reach the top of the cobbled hill.
Enjoy the view of the region, with the Valenciennes area to the left and the Avesnes area to the right.
(8) Turn right onto a path between the fields and continue towards the village of Maresches.
(9) At the entrance to the village, turn right then head down the street on the left towards the Rhônelle. Follow Rue de la Fontaine to the left as far as the church.
(10) At the foot of the church, turn left for 50 m and first turn right then left to join Rue du Contour de Trieux. Walk up towards a wayside cross.
(11) When you reach the former convent, go to the left of the wayside cross and head back along Chemin de Préseau towards the village.
(2) Turn right back onto the original route as far as Sainte-Aldegonde Church.
(S/E) Do not head for the car park, but continue down Rue Paul Bonduelle on the left, opposite the church.
(12) At the bottom of the street, turn right onto Rue Eugène Philippe and continue straight ahead before taking Rue Cuvier to the Chapelle Saint-Hubert.
Cross the D73 with care and turn right onto the cycle path until you reach the crossroads.
(13) At the junction with the D173, turn left onto the track. Continue to the entrance of the Wult farm and go round the farmhouse on the right. Follow the path.
(14) At the junction with the Chemin de Jenlain in Préseau, turn left.
On the right, a mound stands on the site of the former Fort Rochambeau, which has been converted into a waste storage area.
The path, now paved, runs alongside the football stadium. Continue along Route de Jenlain towards the village until you reach the junction with the D 73.
(15) Take Rue Pasteur to the left. At the right-hand bend, continue straight ahead (one-way street) then turn right onto Rue Césaire Durieux. You will find Rue Paul Bonduelle on your right and then your starting point (S/E).
