Maresches country route

Park near Café Rando Le Celtic, 3 Rue du Contour du Trieux.

(S/E) With your back to the café, head left to reach the D173. Turn right, walk past the town hall and carry on straight ahead. Take Rue du Contour de l’église on the left for a good hundred metres.

(1) Turn right onto Rue de la République, then right onto Ruelle Dinant, then left onto Rue d’Artres until you reach the Oratoire Ouest.

(2) At the oratory, carry on along the same road, then at the Fork in the road, turn left. Carry on straight ahead until you reach another Fork in the road.

(3) Turn slightly left onto Rue du Marais (take a short detour to the left to see a fountain), then carry on straight ahead along Rue de la Fontaine

(4) At the junction, turn right onto Rue du Contour de l’Église and head straight for the church. Walk past it on the right and you’ll reach Place de l’Église. Head down to the left along the Grande Garrue, which has been converted for pedestrians with gabions.

(5) At the bottom, turn right onto Route de Sepmeries, take in the view of the mill and cross the bridge over the Rhônelle
Turn left onto Rue de Merdieu, pass a farm on your left and continue along this country lane until you reach the junction

(6) Turn left, carry on and cross the Rhônelle again at La Caudellerie. Continue along the Chemin du Gravier until you reach Rue Léon Malard.

(7) First turn right then left, and take the Voie des Treize. At the end, turn left and then left again towards Les Quatre Arbres.

(8) When you reach the D173, cross carefully. Turn right and take great care for 200 m. Turn left onto the country lane towards Derrière le Bois. Opposite Préseau church, follow the path to the left

(9) Then turn left onto the Chemin de Préseau, which then becomes Rue du Contour de Trieux.
At the Route de Wult, turn right onto Rue du Contour de Trieux and return to your starting point (S/E).

Short route 2 km:
(4) At the junction, turn right onto Rue du Contour de l’Église and head straight for the church; walk past it on the right to reach the church square, then turn left three times to return to your starting point.

Medium route (4.89 km):
(7) Turn left onto Rue Léon Malard to return to your starting point.
