The Oratoire des Amourettes

Start from the car park at Sommaing Town Hall.

(S/E) With the town hall on your left, leave the car park and turn right onto Rue de Saint-Quentin. Cross the bridge over the Écaillon and continue along the same street for about 50 m.

(1) At the junction, turn left onto Rue des Marlettes.

(2) At the wayside shrine, turn right onto Chemin de Sommaing. Continue straight on, heading north, and ignore a path on the left. Pass under a high-voltage power line and you will immediately reach a junction.

(3) Carry on straight ahead. Pass under a high-voltage power line again and continue to the next junction.

(4) Turn left onto Chemin de Verchain. Walk alongside the high-voltage power line, keeping a safe distance to your left. Further on, pass under two high-voltage power lines.

(5) At the next junction, go straight on, ignoring all turn-offs to the left, and head for the Moulin de la Layette.

(6) Cross the bridge over the Écaillon. Turn right as you leave the bridge and ignore a path coming from the left, then another from the right.

(7) Cross the D40a with care and walk past the wayside shrine. Continue along the Chemin de la Planche (^GRP®, red and yellow markings).

(8) At the next junction, turn left onto the Chemin du Quesnoy (leaving the^GRP®).

(9) At the junction, turn slightly right, staying on the Chemin du Quesnoy. Cross a road (Rue de Saulzoir) and continue straight on. At the next junction, go straight on again.

(10) At the crossroads, head straight ahead (east) along Chemin Cavée d’Haussy.

(11) Cross the D40A again and continue straight ahead along Chemin Vert.

(12) At the Fork in the road, turn left onto Rue de Bouchain. At the junction shortly afterwards, turn left onto Rue de Saint-Quentin and continue to the town hall (S/E).
