From Parc de Saint-Cloud to Porte Maillot (circular route)

Park in the pay-and-display car park near the Rond de la Balustrade in the Parc du Domaine National de Saint-Cloud (entry fee applies for motor vehicles). For access by public transport, see the practical information.

Red and white markings of^{the GR®®1}

(S/E) Head towards the Rond de la Balustrade then follow the^GR®® to the right^. Walk along the right-hand side of the balcony and continue straight ahead. Go round the lawn on the right. Once on the tarmac, take the^2nd left after the restaurant. At the end, keep to the right then take the^5th path on the right.

(1) Climb the steps on the left. Head right and pass the three ponds on your left. At the end, turn left. Enter the car park on the right. Follow the^first path on the right.

(2) After the gate, turn left into the garden and turn left. At the Fork in the road, keep right. Cross a path then go round the pond on the left. Go straight on at the crossroads. Leave the garden on the right. Cross the path and go down the steps on the left. After the^second bench, follow the path to the right. Go down the steps on the left and turn left.

(3) Go through the Grille des Écoles to leave the park. Head straight ahead into Rue des Écoles. Pass Rue Royale on your right, then Rue du Docteur Desfossez.

(4) Go straight on at the crossroads. Ignore the two streets on the right. Turn right. Before the roundabout, cross at the pedestrian crossing. Turn right, use the pedestrian crossing and go down the avenue on the left. Ignore Rue de Béarn. Then go straight up. Keep right at the roundabout.

(5) Take the Passerelle de l’Avre on the right, which crosses the Seine. At the end of the footbridge, turn left.

(6) Follow the path leading towards the banks of the Seine. Walk along the river until you reach the Fleur Bleue barge. Go up the steps on the right. Before the road, turn left then take the pedestrian crossing on the right. First turn right then left to walk alongside a stream.

(7) Cross the bridge on the right then keep to the left. At the junction, turn right to cross at the pedestrian crossing. Head left and walk on the right-hand side of the Longchamp Racecourse. At the traffic lights, take Avenue de l’Hippodrome opposite. Use the pedestrian crossing on the left and head right. Take the^second path on the left.

(8) Walk along the right-hand side of the lawn in front of the restaurant. Before the barrier, turn left and, at the three-way junction, go down into the grotto on the left. At the top of the steps, go round the pond on the right-hand side. At the crossroads, leave the tarmac and keep left at the fork in the road. Before the bench, cross the road and then the Ruisseau de Longchamp.

(9) Walk along the right-hand side of the stream. At the road, turn right to use the two pedestrian crossings. Follow the cycle path. Take the bridge on the right and walk along the left-hand side of the stream. After another bridge, turn left. Cross a road. Ignore a path on the right. Keep left at the Fork in the road and leave the bridge behind. Turn right.

(10) Cross the road. At the junction, turn left. At the road, take the bridge opposite, then a^{second one} on the right. Turn into the^second lane on the left. At the Fork in the road, keep left then turn right.

(11) Cross the road, head left then follow the stream on your left. At the^second junction, follow the stream on your right, passing a fitness area. Keep right after the playground.

(12) Cross at the pedestrian crossing opposite and head right, then left along the stream. At the end of the stream, veer right to rejoin it on your left. Leave the stream at the next junction by going straight ahead. At the next junction, head straight on along the path on the left. Then turn left.

(13) Follow the Route de la Porte des Sablons to the Porte Maillot on the right. Use the pedestrian crossings to cross over the ring road. Pass the first entrance to the park. Go down and then up the cycle path at the end of^{the GR®®1}and the red and white markings.

(14) Turn right into the park. Keep to the right and ignore the steps. Turn left three times and exit the park. To take Rue Weber opposite, due to current roadworks, head right to cross the boulevard. At the end of Rue Weber, turn right. At the end of Rue Pergolèse, turn right onto Avenue Foch. At number 90, keep left and walk past the metro entrance. Cross Avenue Foch at the pedestrian crossings.

(15) Turn right and go behind the RER station. Walk along the right-hand side of the Porte Dauphine roundabout. After the university building, use the pedestrian crossing and go up the path on the left. Go over the ring road. Cross the slip road at the pedestrian crossing.

(16) Turn left onto a path. Go straight on at the following junctions. At the three-way junction, keep right (yellow and red markings). Take the pedestrian crossing.

(17) Walk along the right-hand side of the Lower Lake in the Bois de Boulogne. Go down the steps on the right. At the Fork in the road, keep to the right. After the waterfall, turn left to leave the lake’s banks. Cross at the pedestrian crossing and turn left. Take the path on the right after the drinking fountain (yellow and red markings). At the junction, go straight on. Cross a road and turn left to cross the avenue at the pedestrian crossing.

(18) Turn right along a stream. At the crossroads, turn left then keep to the right. Continue along the avenue closed to traffic, then take the path on the left. Pass a path on the right. At the three-way junction, go straight on. Ignore two paths on the left. At the next two crossroads, go straight ahead. Follow the road to the right. Back on the avenue, take the second path on the left. Cross a path then turn right. Go straight on at every junction. After the tree in the middle of the crossroads, keep left then turn right.

(19) Follow Avenue de Saint-Cloud to the left, then, after the^second bench, take the track on the right. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and head straight on, leaving the tarmac behind. Leave the path on your left. Cross a track. At the end, turn right and follow the road. At the roundabout, follow the road to the left. Then continue straight ahead. Cross at the pedestrian crossing.

(6) Turn left and follow the road. After the pumping station, head down to the right to walk as close as possible to the Seine. Just before the Pont de Saint-Cloud, go up the footbridge on the right and then cross the Seine.

(20) Use the pedestrian crossings to cross the D907 and head down to the left towards the Seine. Take the protected crossing on the right. Go down the stairs on the left. Go through the gate. Turn right into the first lane. Keep to the left. Walk past the Grande Cascade. In the middle of the Bassin du Grand Jet, make the first turn right then left.

(21) Follow the path to the right. Turn left onto the first path. Turn right into the lane. At the end of this, take the path on the left which starts behind the wooden gate. Leave the path on your right. Cross the tarmac to join the small path. At the road, turn around and take the path on the right. At the end, you’ll find the car park where you started on the left (S/E).
