Start from the Place d'Armes opposite the Tourist Office.
(S/E) Walk along the Place d'Armes and past the Church of Saint-Charles Borromée.
(1) Take Rue Gambetta on the right until you reach Place Turenne.
(2) Cross the bridge over the Meuse, then take thesecond street on your right, turn right then left and follow the path running alongside the Meuse. Cross the river again via the footbridge and head straight on to reach Avenue Margueritte.
(3) Turn left, walk past the hospital and the Dijonval until you reach the Chêne Brisé (sculpture).
(4) At the Chêne Brisé, take the path on the left, follow it until you reach Allée de la Division Margueritte and continue along this road, going downhill for about 250 m.
(5) Turn right onto Allée des Capucins and continue for about 350 m.
(6) Once you reach the end, opposite the military cemetery, turn immediately right onto Rue de Braves Gens and head up to the Mémorial des Chasseurs d'Afrique.
(7) At the memorial, turn right and continue to a junction.
(8) Continue straight ahead, skirting a wood and cultivated fields. At the end of this path, turn right and head downhill, with the Bois de la Garenne on your left. At the next junction, turn left and, at the fork in the path, continue downhill along the grassy path running alongside the wall on your left.
(9) Cross the road and take the path that runs behind the houses to the end, then join Boulevard du 30 Floréal. Take Rue du Vieux Camp, which starts slightly to the left towards the castle.
(10) Walk down the path that runs along the ramparts to reach the rear of the castle, the Porte des Princes. Walk along the left side of the castle and round the bastions until you are facing it. Take the street on the left and head towards the Place d’Armes, opposite the Tourist Office (S/E).
