Start the hike at the Parking des Chaudronniers car park in Soultz-Haut-Rhin.
No signposts
(S/E) With your back to the car park, head straight ahead and, at the stop sign, turn left onto Rue des Charpentiers. At the end, turn right onto Rue des Vignerons and continue straight ahead. At the car park, Promenade de la Citadelle and playground, go up the street on the right to reach a stop sign on the D4bis.
(1) First turn right then left, then take Rue d'Aswiller on the left. At the end of the street, turn left onto Rue du Freundstein. At the end, continue straight ahead on the track, then leave a path on the left. You will arrive at Chemin des Romains.
(2) Continue straight ahead on the road. At the crossroads at the end of the paved section, continue straight ahead on the track. Then pass a path on the left and another on the right to reach a fork at a place called Erlenmatt.
(3) Turn right at a right angle. At the next two crossroads, continue left. Then go straight ahead at the next one before turning right at a right angle and arriving at a fork near a stream and a cross.
(4) Turn left onto Rue du Château. Stay on the same side when you reach the crossroads and take Rue de l'Église. You will arrive at the fortified cemetery.
(5) Continue along the street, which turns right. Opposite the town hall, go up Grande Rue on the left, passing in front of the fountain. Go straight ahead at each crossroads to leave Hartmannswiller. You will come to a fork in the road in a wood.

(6) Turn left onto the track towards Berrwiller.

Leave this track by turning right at the first junction. Then rejoin the road and turn left towards the bend.

(7) Continue on the right to enter Berrwiller. Go to the school. Shortly afterwards, turn left onto Rue d'Or and reach the church.
(8) Go around it by taking Rue de l'Église on the left. Then go straight ahead onto Rue de Verdun and continue straight ahead onto Rue Hintergasse. At the end, continue right onto Rue Bimberling. First turn left then right to cross Rue Principale and follow Rue de Staffelfelden. Follow this street to the playground.
(9) At the playground, continue along the road, keeping to the right on the paved path. At the end, continue on the path on the right. At the crossroads, at a place called "Schaeferweg", turn left and continue to a T-junction.

(10) Take the road on the right and continue to the end.
(11) Follow the grassy path that continues opposite. At the ditch, go up to the right until you reach the cycle path.
(12) Cross the ditch on the left. Stay on the cycle path until you reach a Y-junction. Continue left to reach the D431.
(13) Take the cycle path on the other side. Ignore the junctions and continue to the end of the lane.
(14) Turn right onto Rue du Stade. Continue along this street, turning left and then keeping right onto Rue du Jura. You will reach Rue du Ventron at the end.
(15) Turn left onto this street. At the end, turn right onto Rue du Rossberg. Take the first left, Rue de Wattwiller, to reach the departmental road.
(16) Keep going until you reach the police station. First turn right then left, staying on the same street until you reach a park.
(17) Enter the park via the path to the right of Rue Gustave Eiffel. Once you reach the Thur, follow the river to the right. Cross the river via the first footbridge.

Then continue up the right bank of the river. Pass under the road bridge and you will reach the stork park.

(18) Turn left here, then right and cross the Thur. Continue along the street that extends from the footbridge and ignore three junctions. Take the fourth right, Rue du Marechal Foch. Continue straight ahead until you reach the square at the entrance to the church.

(19) Facing the square, turn left twice to follow Rue de Thann. Stay on this street and pass through the Porte de Thann. Take the second right towards the cemetery via Rue des Montagnes. Ignore three forks and reach a track immediately after the third crossroads.

(20) Turn right towards Uffolthz. Starting in the countryside, the path quickly returns to the town. You will come to an X-shaped fork.

Continue along the second street on the right (Rue du Bourg). At the end, you will reach the town hall and Saint-Érasme Church.
(21) Pass the church on your left and take a small passageway on your right. At the car park, cross it to reach Rue de la Paix.
Red Triangle Markings
(22) Turn right onto this street. Ignore two forks, then first turn right then left at the third to rejoin a track. Then turn left, then right twice to rejoin a wide path.
Red Horse Markings
(23) Turn left onto this track. Continue straight ahead until you reach the stream. Then go up Rue de la Victoire to the third intersection. Turn left onto Rue du Moulin and you will reach the Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste.
(24) At the crossroads at the corner of the church, turn right and continue straight ahead on Rue du Cimetière. Then cross Rue du Vieil Armand and keep right until you reach the cemetery.
(25) Continue left onto Rue de Thierenbach. Keep going straight ahead and continue on the track that extends the street. Pass a statue of the Virgin Mary and continue straight ahead until you reach the forest. Ignore the path on the left at the sign for "Thierenbach Chemin des Pèlerins". At the crossroads with the oratory, stay on the path that climbs slightly to the left. At the fork, take a more discreet path on the left that leads to a German shelter from the First World War.
(26) Go back down to the Chemin des Pèlerins and follow it to the left. Pass several remnants of the Great War to reach a fork with a fountain and a table.
(27) Continue straight ahead, almost level. Ignore the four paths on the left, which are more or less clear, and reach a fifth fork with a barrier.
(28) Turn left, then left again twice more. At the top of the hill, continue to the right, walk alongside the vineyards for a short while and re-enter the forest. At the fork, turn left, then straight ahead at the next fork to reach the Wuenheimerbach.
(29) Continue straight ahead, then turn left and immediately right to tackle the only real climb on the route. Reach what remains of the Gros Chêne.
(30) Stay on the road straight ahead. Do the same at the intersection and reach a bend.

Stay on the road until you reach the Thierenbach car park. Once at the car park, walk along the right-hand side and you will reach the front of the basilica.

(31) After visiting the basilica, descend to the right towards the pedestrian crossing and continue down the road on the other side on the footpath. At the cemetery, join the road and follow it downhill. You will reach a playground at the end of the road.

(32) Take Rue de Soultz on the right. Cross the Rimbach, pass a crossroads and take the lane on the left. At the crossroads, continue on the right. Do the same at the next fork to reach a farm track.
(33) Go straight ahead and do the same at the next fork. Follow the track which continues along Rue Mannberg. At the bend at the end, continue to the right to rejoin the Rimbach.

(34) Go up the road on the right and take the first street on the left, Rue du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny. Follow the street until you reach the "Parking des Chaudronniers" sign. Head towards the car park and join the Parking des Chaudronniers (S/E).
