No signposting
You will occasionally cross or follow a few signposted paths: signposting is only mentioned where necessary.
(S) On leaving the station (bus stop; traffic lights), cross Rue Dailly and follow it to the right, leaving the hospital on your left. After a right-hand bend, turn left onto a footpath towards Parc de Saint-Cloud. Go straight ahead, ignore a flight of steps leading down to the left and take a wide left-hand bend. At the end, follow Allée des Lilas to the right.
(1) Enter Parc de Saint-Cloud. Turn immediately right, pass a chicane and climb up a concrete path (red and white markings). Ignore a path branching off to the right and continue climbing the path, which becomes interspersed with steps. At the top, follow a wide path to the left until you reach a beautiful viewpoint (bench).
(2) Then turn right and immediately right again to enter the Jardin du Trocadéro. At the fork shortly afterwards, turn right. At the next junction, turn left and cross a drainage channel. At the crossroads, take the first path on the left and note a pond on the left.
(3) At a rotunda (benches), turn right (red and white marker). At the next junction, turn left and cross another ditch. At the fork immediately ahead, turn right. Ignore a path coming from the right, leave the garden, come out onto a wide path and follow it to the right. Pass through a metal gate then a forest barrier and turn sharply left (red and white arrow).
(4) Go round the Bassin des 24 Jets on the right and pass by the statues of Venus and then Neptune. At the foot of the statue of Jupiter, turn right, pass through a forest gate and climb gently up the lawn on the right. At the top, go round the Bassin de la Grande Gerbe on the left. Pass a restaurant, then take the second path on the left to walk along a lawn on your left. Pass a bench on the right-hand side.
Yellow markings
(5) At the corner of a fence (marker), turn right. At the next corner, turn right again, following a reservoir. At the end of the fence, turn left and follow a path that winds through the undergrowth. You’ll come out onto a track; follow it to the left, running parallel to a wide tarmac lane. Climb gently and you’ll reach a large crossroads (the Rond de Chasse).
(6) Take the third path on the left towards the Maison des Jardies. At the junction before a gate, turn right onto a dirt track. After a right-hand bend, turn left and go through the park’s exit gate. Go round a small car park on the left, cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and continue along the path opposite. Go through a small gate to re-enter the park.
No signposting
(7) Turn immediately right along the gate. Shortly afterwards, take the first path on the left and head uphill. At a crossroads, continue roughly straight ahead, due west, and keep climbing. At the end of the path, follow an old stony track to the left with a few remnants of tarmac. Ignore the first path on the right (not shown on the map).
Red and white markings
(8) Take the next path on the right and head uphill. At the two junctions that follow (map and signpost at the second), go straight on. Ignore a path coming from the right and, at the fork that follows, turn right. At the crossroads, go straight on, pass through a gate and leave the Parc de Saint-Cloud. Walk down a street and cross the Place de la Mairie (church and town hall on the left, former post office on the right).

(9) Follow Rue G. et X. Schlumberger as it continues.
No markings
At the traffic lights, turn left into Rue de Versailles and head slightly uphill. At the top, take the first right, Rue Maurice Chevalier, and walk past the large houses on the right-hand side. At the end, continue straight ahead along a path (horseshoe).
Yellowmarkings
At the first junction, continue straight ahead between plots no. 51 and 50.
(10) At the next junction (plot no. 38), there are two options:
- If you wish to avoid the circular route through the Haras de Jardy, continue straight on and rejoin the main route at (12). This shorter route is approximately 2.5 km shorter.
- Otherwise, as shown on the map, turn right, heading due north. At a junction, continue straight ahead. At the Haras junction, turn left. Enter the Haras de Jardy, follow a concrete path and, at the fork immediately ahead, turn left. You will come out onto another concrete path; follow it to the right, skirting a meadow on your left.
(11) At the junction, turn right. Shortly afterwards, at a second junction, go straight on and follow a meadow on your left. Then turn left onto the concrete path and follow the buildings with stables.
No signposting
At a roundabout on the left-hand side, continue straight ahead on the concrete path. At the end (map), turn left and follow a meadow on your left. At the corner of a fence, turn sharply right, pass a small house and leave the stud farm. You will come to a road.

(12) Cross the road diagonally, to the right if you are leaving the stud farm, to the left if you have avoided the circular loop within the stud farm. Cross a small car park and continue on level ground along a compacted track. At the first junction, go straight on. At the second junction (plot no. 73), go straight on again (ignore a yellow arrow indicating a left turn). At a fork (plot no. 77), keep left. You will reach a large road junction; ignore the paths leading off to the right.
No signposting
(13) Continue straight ahead, cross a small car park, pass through a forest gate and continue along a wide tarmac path. Stay on this path, ignoring all side paths.
(14) Pass through a forest gate and cross a road. On the other side, turn immediately right to enter the Picardy Forest Park. Walk alongside a fence on your left and pass a playground on your right. At the end, turn left to leave the park. Pass between two trees marked with numbers 115 and 116 respectively, and continue on level ground.
(15) Cross a car park and, at the far end, go through a forest gate. Turn immediately right (bench; tree marked No. 118) and head downhill. At a T-junction, turn left and walk slightly uphill. Shortly afterwards (large tree stump), turn right and walk downhill, leaving a tree bearing the number 117 on your left.
(16) At the bottom, first turn left then right, leaving a tree marked No. 121 on your left. At the fork immediately ahead, turn right and head downhill. At a crossroads (large oak tree in the centre), take the second path on the left, a narrow track. At a junction, go straight on. Follow a fence on your right, cross a small lawn and pass through a forest gate.
(17) You’ll come out onto a road; follow it to the left. At the junction, take the first right, where the speed limit is 30 km/h. Turn into the first left, Avenue du Général Gouraud. Cross Avenue Gaugé on the left, continue straight ahead and you’ll immediately find Viroflay-Rive Droite station on the right (E).
To get back home:
- Transilien - Line L, towards Paris-Saint-Lazare via La Défense (direct access) or Versailles-Rive droite (use the footbridge).
