Description of the walk

Porz Mabo Beach car park

(S/E) Leave the car park by turning left before the beach entrance. Walk along the left-hand side of the campsite via Chemin du Can. At the crossroads, continue right onto Rue de Kernévez, ignoring two estate entrances to the right of the last one (the other roads shown on the map are private access roads).

(1) Turn right onto the path and continue, keeping to the left. When you reach Kéravel, turn right and follow the road north-east via Kerroc'h.

(2) At the crossroads after Kerroc'h, take the path on the left. After a bend to the right, this path climbs northwards to Bérivoalan.
At the fork, continue left onto Rue de Pen Lan. Pass a wayside cross on your left at a junction and continue along the road for a good hundred metres.

(3) Turn right. Cross the D65 at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight ahead.

(4) At the first bend, follow the path to the left and, at the next fork, continue to the right. At the houses, the path becomes Rue Félix le Dantec, which you should follow to the end.

(5) Turn left, then immediately veer right, heading north-east.
After the stream, follow the path on the left which runs alongside it and leads to the Goaz Meur Véadès district. At the Y-junction, continue to the right. At the crossroads, follow Rue de Kérariou to the right.

(6) Turn left onto Chemin du Manoir de Trovern, leaving the Lan Kerrelec dolmen on your left, and continue along the path leading to Manoir de Trovern Braz.

(7) In front of the manor house, turn right and then left as you approach the road. Follow the path which runs behind the manor house, making a 180° bend to reach the Marais du Quellen. Arrive at the marsh car park.

(8) Take the road on the left, Rue du Quellen. When you reach the coastal road (D788), follow it to the left for 20 m, then turn right into Rue de Kerellec.

(9) Continue right onto Rue de Roch ar Skoed and take the second street on the left, Allée circulaire de Lan Kerellec. Keep going right to take Rue de Porz Termen, then cross the car park and walk along the shore and the harbour.

(10) At the end of the harbour, take a path with an information board on your left and go round the castle on the right. The path leads to the beach. Walk past the beach huts and continue along the promenade by the beach. The path continues along the coast. You will reach the access road to Pointe de Bihit.

(11) Cross the road and continue straight ahead along the coastal path. As you approach a house on the right, the path becomes suitable for vehicles (Chemin de Mez an Aod). Just before the road, take a path on the right which leads to Rue de Porz Mabo and thus to the car park (S/E).

Hello,
A lovely walk with a great variety of scenery: crossing the hills above Trébeurden, stunning views of the coast stretching as far as Locquemeau, the countryside and, of course, the marsh – a real highlight! I should point out that you cross the marsh by walking along a raised wooden path.
The ground is barely damp at the start of October and, above all, there’s no real risk of falling into a hunting pit as you always stay fairly close to houses or the coast.
Some sections in the woods require you to watch your step (stones, roots), but nothing is inaccessible to children.
Note that at stage 6, the manor’s owners have privatised the path, so you need to carry on straight ahead and turn left as soon as possible, using the map to find the entrance to the marsh. You lose 5 minutes and end up on tarmac, but it’s no big deal.

Thanks to the author of this walk!

A lovely walk around Trébeurden. The coastal section is a 5+ out of 5. A few sections through residential areas or along quiet roads are less interesting, but necessary to complete the circular walk. There are a few muddy patches in wet weather after point 1 (but the view is well worth it!). Check for any ongoing works in the Quellen marshes. Officially, they weren’t accessible when we did the walk… but we only saw the sign as we were leaving the site. The section between points 6 and 7 is no longer accessible; take a short detour along the road to rejoin the marsh path. Thanks anyway for this route!

A lovely, varied walk with beautiful views of the coast. The land section is also very interesting, particularly the stretch through the marshes. The GPS track is accurate. Between points 6 and 7, there is a closed path: simply continue along the road for 300 metres and you’ll rejoin the track to enter the marshes. Thanks to the creator of this route.
