This walk starts from the car park near the Menhir de Saint-Uzec.
(S/E) Leaving the menhir on your right, head west to take the Route du Menhir. As you approach the village of Penvern, it joins the Route de l'Ile Grande. Follow the road to the right to walk along the Kerhuel stream.
Turn left onto the D788 (departmental road between Trégastel and Trébeurden; be careful, this road is busy).
(1) If the tide is low, turn right and follow the shore to the bridge (option shown on the map). Otherwise, unfortunately, you will have to take the road on the right (50 metres further on).
(2) This is where the Île Grande circuit begins. Turn right and, at the end of the street, turn right again to take the customs officers' path. Follow it along the shore to reach the car park of the island's water sports centre.
(3) Pass the nautical centre and continue along the beach, heading north then east.
(4) Leave the seafront by taking the path on the left. It climbs up to a panoramic viewpoint over the whole island.
(5) Continue along the path that leads to Rue du Dolmen.
(6) You will see the Île Grande covered walkway on your right. At the crossroads, turn right onto Chemin de Castel Vran, then turn left onto Chemin de la Lande.
(7) Turn left to rejoin the path around the island, which ends at the bridge.
(2) Turn right onto the D21 to cross the bridge.
(8) Leave the D21 and take the path on the right. At the fork, continue on your left and then go straight ahead when the path makes a hairpin bend. Cross the D788 and take the Traverse de Bastillien Brian opposite.
(9) At the junction with Rue de l'Armor, turn right and then immediately left onto Chemin de Leur Adellan, which continues as a forest path with a steep climb.
(10) At the fork at the top of the hill, take the path on the left. Pass close to a water tower and continue south-east to a crossroads.
(11) Turn left (Chemin de Kerglet). After passing through Kerhuel, turn left towards Saint-Uzec. In the distance on your right, you will see a large white ball: this is the radome of the Pleumeur Bodou space telecommunications station.
(12) After the Chapel of Saint-Uzec, turn left to join the D21. Opposite and on your left, you will see the path you need to take to reach the car park at the start of the walk, after a hairpin bend to the right.
