(S/E) The walk starts from the free public car park near the port. Walk along the port, heading south-west. At the end, turn left to find a path on the right.
(1) Check the timetable for access to Milliau Island on the sign on the left and, above all, note the latest return time. Take the path and follow it as it makes a hairpin bend until you find an access point on the right to go down and cross the beach. Take this access to Milliau Island.
(2) Climb the ramp to access the island. At the fork, continue straight ahead (the return will be via the path on the right). Further on, the path makes a 90° turn to the right and ends in front of the lodge.
(3) Turn left and walk across the meadow to admire the covered walkway (see photo). Then follow the main path, ignoring two paths on the right (the first leads down to the sea, the second ends at the end of the island in a cul-de-sac, the climb back up is possible through gorse and ferns). You will reach the highest point of the island, which offers a 180° panorama of Lannion Bay. Retrace your steps back to the lodge.
(3) Continue straight ahead to reach the crossing point to leave the island.
(2) Turn left to descend and reach the slipway. Before heading onto the beach, check the maximum tide time as the currents are very strong here. During the season, an SNSM boat is available to take unwary adventurers back to the mainland, but outside the season, you will have to wait at least four hours before you can cross on foot. Back at Le Castel, take the path on the right, which ends in front of the beach.
(4) Walk past the bathing huts and along the seafront to the coastal path that extends the promenade.
(5) Continue along this path, which has a few tricky sections. When you reach the road, turn right and then, shortly afterwards, right again onto a path. After a few metres, you will come to a fork.
(6) Take the path on the right marked "Le Tour de l'Île". It is the only path and requires no further details. Only the view differs between the north and south coasts. Stay on this path, which returns to the crossroads.
(6) Continue straight ahead along a small, steeply sloping tarmac road. At the top, in the car park, there is an orientation table (difficult to read) where you can take a short break. Then continue along the road towards the north-east.
(7) At the crossroads, turn left and follow the D6D on the left-hand side, which is designed for pedestrians. Continue along this road. At the crossroads, take the street on the left and follow it for about 50 metres until you reach a fork. Turn left again and you will soon come to a road that goes downhill and is closed to cars by bollards.
(8) Take this small street. At the bottom, at the crossroads, turn right to join the coastal road and the car park at the start (S/E).
