Park in the car park on Rue de Mausson.
YellowPR® signposts
(S/E) From the car park, cross Rue de Mausson and head right towards the basilica. Turn left to walk past the restaurant and take a small path slightly to the right, following the coloured markings (see note in the Practical Information section). Follow the path downwards to cross the Airon.
(1) Turn right, following the red signs. Turn left at the edge of the woods to rejoin, after a short descent, the main path, which you should follow to the right.
(2) Ignore a bridge on the left, which you’ll cross on the way back. Continue along this lovely avenue (the route of an old railway line) to Mausson Castle (private property).
(3) At the foot of the castle’s buttresses, turn right and walk alongside the Ruisseau de Mausson.
On your right, you’ll notice a hollow, now planted with trees, the remains of a former pond.
Follow the path as it curves to the left and continue straight on.
(4) After the houses in the hamlet of Les Pièces, take a path on the left that runs alongside a field. It winds downwards before reaching the Ruisseau de la Futaie. Cross the stream via the bridge and head towards the hamlet of Pont Dom Guérin.
(5) At the fork in the road, take the left-hand path, which leads onto a road. Following the small blue signs, take the path on the left and go through the castle gates, taking care to close the gate behind you.
(3) Turn right back onto the path you took on the way there.
(2) Turn right to cross the stream. Continue to the left, skirting the monks’ cemetery, until you reach the vicinity of the Oblates’ Chapel. Take the hairpin bend to the right and head for the car park after crossing the road (S/E).
