From Malesherbes to Boutigny-sur-Essonne via the GR®1

Start of the hike at Malesherbes station.

(S) From the station, take Allée de Farcheville opposite, which leads to some houses before becoming a wooded path. Turn left at the end of the wooded path onto Avenue du Général de Gaulle and follow it to the first crossroads.

(1) Turn right onto Avenue Levis Mirepoix. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroads, Rue Amiral Gourdon. Turn left at the end of the street onto Rue du Capitaine Lefèbvre. At the next junction, turn right onto Rue de la République. Follow this street to Malesherbes town hall.

(2) Turn left onto Rue Saint-Martin and continue to Place du Martroy. At the square, turn right onto Rue de Soisy. After the square, at the first 90° right-hand bend, turn left onto Rue de la Martillière and follow it until the first clearly marked left-hand bend.

(3) Take an alleyway that quickly turns into a hiking trail. After a short descent, continue straight ahead at the next fork to begin an ascent. Towards the end of the ascent, turn right to leave the forest and walk along the fields.

(4) Pass in front of a castle, continuing straight ahead on the^GR®®. Descend again to reach the hamlet of Rouville via the street of the same name. Cross part of the village.

(5) Leave the hamlet via the first path on the right. Shortly afterwards, ignore a^PR®® coming from the right and continue straight ahead.

(6) On your right is the Touvaux marsh. Stay on the same path until you reach the hamlet of Touvaux and cross it completely until you reach a crossroads.

(7) Keep to the right towards Argeville. Pass this hamlet and its castle until you reach the next junction, staying on the same road.

(8) Turn right towards Moulin Paillard. Cross the Essonne river and pass in front of the mill to reach an intersection.

(9) Turn left towards Chantambre. Follow the road for about 800 metres until you reach the first track on the left.

(10) Take this track. Continue straight ahead at each junction until you reach the village of Chantambre. When you reach the first houses, turn left onto a track, then turn right to join the Route de Malesherbes.

(11) Turn left. Take the first path on the right and continue straight ahead until you reach the next road.

(12) Continue straight ahead on this road until you reach the church in Buno-Bonnevaux.

(13) Continue straight ahead at the crossroads by the church and pass in front of the town hall. Keep right at the next two crossroads. At the third, turn left onto Route de Milly. Stay on the road until you reach the last houses. Shortly afterwards, on the left, you will see the start of a footpath.

(14) Take this path, which climbs slightly. It turns into a track: continue straight ahead until you reach the road, which you should follow to the left until you reach the second track coming from the left.

(15) Take this track. Cross the D1 to stay on the^GR®®. Follow the track to the Pierre Droite, which is located to the right of the track in the fields.

(16) Continue straight ahead at the crossroads just after the menhir. Go straight ahead at each crossroads until the track ends and gives way to a path leading into the forest. Follow this path to reach a crossroads in the forest.

(17) Turn left. Continue straight ahead at each fork and downhill to the D837.

(18) Cross the road and take Rue de Malabry opposite. Follow this street until you reach the third road on the left. A little further on, you will find Chemin des Bruyères on the right.

(19) Take this path, which leads into a pine forest. At the first crossroads, continue straight ahead. You will come to a second crossroads.

(20) Ignore the^GR®® des Vallées de l'Essonne on your right and continue straight ahead. Ignore the next four paths/trails on your right and continue straight ahead until you reach the fifth trail on this side.

(21) Turn right and start climbing the hill, which you should follow to its end.

(22) Turn left. Continue straight ahead at the first junction to reach a second crossroads at Butte des Audigers.

(23) Keep left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the descent into Fond de Malabri. At the end of the descent, stay on the track until you reach the first junction forming a 90° angle to the right.

(24) Follow the path on the right and you will reach the D105.

(25) Turn left and then take the first lane on the right. Then turn right again before the track makes a 90° left turn. At the next two crossroads, continue straight ahead before entering the forest and climbing a hill, keeping to the left of the track.

(26) At the end of the hill, turn left onto a track and follow it to its end, then keep right on another track. Stay on the same track until you reach the first path coming from the left, which forms an acute-angled crossroads.

(27) Turn left and begin the descent towards Boutigny-sur-Essonne. Keep right at the next three crossroads until you reach the town hall of Boutigny-sur-Essonne.

(28) Turn left onto Boulevard Jules David and continue to Boutigny-sur-Essonne station (E).

Access to the starting point from Paris: take the Transilien D from Gare de Lyon, Châtelet or Gare du Nord to Juvisy, then head towards Malesherbes.

Return to Paris: RER D to Juvisy, then change to the RER D for Paris, Creil/Villiers-le-Bel or Goussainville.

This hike can be divided into four sections:

From Malesherbes (S) to Boigneville: continue straight ahead at (8). Cross the railway line and turn right towards Boigneville station.

From Boigneville to Buno-Gironville: after (13), keep left at the first crossroads then go straight on at each junction until you reach Buno-Gironville station.

From Buno-Gironville to Maisse: from (18), turn left onto the D837. Follow the road to the railway line. The station is on the right.

And from Maisse to Boutigny-sur-Essonne (E).
